Looks like Verizon still had a bunch of original Droids in stock, as the phone has once again show its face on the carrier's website with a nice discount to $150. Since the Nexus One has passed, the Motorola Droid is now the only phone you can get (in the U.S. at least) with stock Android goodness.

Also, the saga of the Droid Incredible being on backorder have pretty much ended. The DInc is now back in stock with only a day's wait before shipping. If the PhilBlur-ified Droid X or Droid 2 don't float your boat, you have two other great options waiting for you past the link. [Verizon Wireless]

Hope the DX does that soon. I spent the past few days choosing between getting the D2 and the physical keyboard quick, or getting the DX and having to wait. I decided to deal with the touchscreen and swype and order the DX last night. I just couldn't resist the screen. Hopefully it doesn't take until the end of the month like it stated on the website. The wait will be worth it. Goodbye Storm 1...

If they (t-mobile) butchers Project Emerald with some android overlay. I will cry. And complain. I guess there is nothing else I can do. I will stick with my Nexus One til the day I die.

Can't you just root it and install whichever OS "type" you want on it? Motoblur, Sense, Touchwiz...whatever?

bah, Amazon has the same phone for $0.01. No rebates, etc. Just straight up a penny.

I'm looking on verizonwireless.com and I can't find it. How'd you get to it? Maybe it's a regional thing?

EDIT: I do see it on Amazon's wireless site--$0.01 for a new contract, as reported, or $149 if you're already on Big Red.

Had the 1 now the X. Was a big hater of the physical keyboard and the 2 keyboard looks much better. I loved the 1 and it is an amazing device but hated the keyboard. My wife loves a physical pad but she hated the one on my Droid 1 so I got her the Ally and for her it is fine and she loves it. I don't care for it much due to the speed of it although not a bad device for what it is. Hey don't get me wrong I have an X and an Incredible and in some small way I miss my original Droid. My son and daughter have them and love them. I guess I am just a touchscreen guy.
