Case-Mate brings us a sturdy yet unobtrusive case for the Note 4
As a general rule, the more protection a case offers, the bulkier it tends to become, and the more it tends to obscure the original design of your phone. Case-Mate's latest Naked Tough Case for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 strikes a decent balance between the two, however, with a clear shell that promises to protect your device without making it unnecessarily cumbersome.
As with many other hard shell cases, Case-Mate's Naked Tough Case comes in two parts. First there's a flexible trim that fits around the outside of your Galaxy Note 4, designed to absorb shock. Then there's the clear polycarbonate frame, into which it fits. This makes docking your Note into the case fairly easy, though disassembling things requires a fair bit of force.
Once assembled, the case adds only a little additional heft to the Note 4's already sizeable dimensions. It also smooths out some of the device's sharper edges, making it a bit more ergonomic, though perhaps at the cost of requiring a little extra pocket space.
The case includes button overlays for the volume rocker and power key, both of which are chrome-tinted and are just as responsive as the Note's original buttons. And when it comes to cut-outs, you'll find gaps for the camera and sensor assembly, microUSB port, S Pen, headphone jack, speakers and microphones. The overall aesthetic of Case-Mate's Naked Tough Case is perhaps best fitted to the white Galaxy Note 4, although the clear back and trim also fits pretty well with the darker color option too.
If you're looking for a good balance between design, thinness and protection, the Case-Mate Naked Tough Case for the Galaxy Note 4 is worth considering, and available now at ShopAndroid.com for $29.95.
