In Short

Axon is a new offshoot from longtime smartphone manufacturer ZTE. And it's bringing the new Axon Pro (also referred to in the early days as the Axon Phone) to the United States.

While ZTE's no stranger to North America, it's known almost entirely for filling out the low end of a carrier's lineup. Axon is a pretty major departure from that. This initial entry sports a 5.5-inch 2K display, running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop — and it's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. It's got a 3,000 mAh battery with quick charge, 4GB of RAM and a dual-lens camera at 13 megapixels.

This is decidedly not a low-end smartphone. But neither does it break the bank, coming in at just $450 outright.
