Droid Eris Users Getting 2.1 OTA Update?

Jerry Hildenbrand Rumors Wednesday, 17 February 2010

First off, don't kill the messenger.  It looks like Verizon has started pushing out the long awaited Android 2.1 update ( with Sense UI ) to Droid Eris users.  Not very many people are reporting getting it, but of the few that have one user over at Androidforums makes the claim, and has pictures to back it up.

Not all is Rosie (pun intended) though.  There are reports of complete device wipes, as well as Google account sync issues.  My advice, Eris users invest in some backup software and get everything ready in case this is the "real deal" and not a technical glitch.

Phil Nickinson News, Rumors Monday, 01 February 2010

Remember, for a minute, what your mother used to tell you about talking to strangers. Now replace that with cell phone carrier customer solutions representatives and automated chat robots. Not that they're out to mislead anybody. It's just that sometimes the facts aren't always there, though they're more than willing to talk to you.

And that brings us to today's rumor of the

A second one may be announced for Verizon, he said.

Might these be two versions of the Opus One? Or something else? Only one way to find out. Time to pack for Vegas! [

Engadget says it's got a source that says the HTC Incredible, one of the leaked code names unearthed in that leaked Android 2.1 ROM, is headed for Verizon. While that's not the sort of code name you'd expect just any old phone to have, let's remember that the HTC Mega on Windows Mobile was kind of a buzzkill. So maybe it's the Passion/Dragon, and...
