Weekly Photo Contest: Green

Another fantastic Weekly Photo Contest is over and done with, yielding several pages of great photo entries in the forums. We saw plenty of lush greenery from around the world, as well as some more abstract entries that took the "green" prompt to interesting places. Three winners were picked this week, so be sure to read along and see the winning images for yourself.

Winner of an Android Central Swag Bag, slevenkelevra!

Weekly Photo Contest: Green Winner

It's always great to see a shot that focuses intensely on a single color, but doesn't wash out the whole frame with it. This green ball stands out distinctly from the rest of the image, and is clearly the focus, but doesn't take away from the brilliantly-composed shot overall. Taken with a Nexus 5 and edited in Snapseed.

Winner of an Android Central Swag Bag, dweebuk!

Not the typical angle you see tree branches pictured, and we love how crisp the lines of the needles and cones are on the sky background. A fantastic shot, taken with the Xperia Z1.

Winner of a Chromecast, jayds74!

Well, it really is hard to beat a view like that. The intense greenery stands out along with all of the stone and rocks, and the extra clouds at the top of the frame just emphasize the height as well. All-around great photo, no matter the prompt, taken with a Moto X and edited in Pixlr Express.

If you've won this contest, keep an eye on your email inbox for information on how we'll get the prize out to you.

Thanks again to everyone else who entered, and keep your eyes peeled for the next photo contest. We want the chance to give away more great prizes to everyone, so keep taking pictures and entering them!

Thought I finally had a shot on this contest, but how do you compete with Machu Picchu? Great pics all around.

That's so cool! First time entering a photo here so I really appreciate the nod! And thanks for the comments above. It really was breathtaking up there and I'm happy to share it with others!
