As Amazon is wont to do, it has updated the Amazon Echo with another nifty new feature: Alexa can now read Kindle books to you. To get started, you can simply ask Alexa to start reading by saying "Alexa, read my Kindle book" or by asking for a specific title. And if you happen to need a break or miss something, you can ask Alexa to pause or skip back, respectively.

In addition, the Amazon Echo is now compatible with the Vivint Home Security System through a new skill. With the integration, you can control your Vivint system to lock and unlock doors, control your thermostat and more with just your voice.

Finally, Amazon has elected to highlight a few more of the Amazon Echo's skills this week, including asking Alexa for a fortune cookie reading, scheduling quick events on Google Calendar, and checking up on your favorite NFL teams as we dive further into the playoffs.
