Adobe AIR

Adobe this morning at the Flash Summit in San Francisco let it be known that Adobe AIR 2.5 will be available in the foruth quarter of 2010.

"The 2.x line has been about taking this broader," Adobe said. "AIR is about building applications."

Adobe isn't yet ready to announce how AIR will be distributed -- whether it will be OTA updates, or preinstalled on devices, but announcements are very much possible at its upcoming MAX conference.

Probably only going to run on advanced devices. Such as those with 1.Xghz processors. Oh well by that time I will have a sweet new phone. Till then I will have to use my Droid Og with whatever rom is fresh at the time.

I've been using the AIR beta that has been floating around for a while. It runs with zero problems on my incredible.

Yeah this really means that we will see Adobe AIR in Quarter four of 2012. Not to be negative here, but that's adobe for you. A crappy product and always postponed.

The AIR beta works flawlessly on my Evo, in fact it seems just as responsive as native apps. The Flash Player 10.1 works well, too.

Quit hatin'.

This is fantastic news for Android I did try out the very early beta with the few apps available for it and I can't wait to see what comes next. I realty think with this kind of support for the Android OS and the fact this will open up a multitude of developers not restricted to eather web PC or mobile, this is in reality were PC and mobile lines will start to realy blur. I am realy looking forward to a tablet capable of running gingerbread now and when it comes my windows laptop will get thrown against a wall with all the force I can muster mwhahaha...
Apple have a major problem on there hands as there fanbase start to realize that 97% of the webs content can actually be viewed on mobile devices but Apple refuse to give it to them or are just not capable of delivering.

What is Air? (I could go read the blah blah blah on Adobe's page, but I'm looking for the nutshell version).

adobe air is flash content application that allow u to get a rich 3d/hd look of the application like game apps with benefit from this and movies application ect.

WOw adobe lied again they said that adobe air was suppose to be android 2.2 os in may 2010 in that meeting when google rollout presentation for android 2.2 os for nexus one users. They bunch of lazy asses, i will not buy any android 3.0 os phone to get this feature they better roll this out for us froyo users.

Could you post the source of this claim? As far as I know, they only said it would be in BETA starting around then, which it has been. I have it installed and have developed several test apps with it. I think you are mistaken.
