Acer has just announced a new 10.1-inch tablet with a full HD display, alas it runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

The new Iconia Tab 10 features a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS display with a Zero Air Gap touch panel and Corning's Gorilla Glass 4. The results in an expanded 170-degree viewing angle to the device, while allowing for great contrast and sharpness from the scratch and damage resistant screen. It's not the widest viewing angle, but it's better than most cheap tablets. On the display Acer has also added a fingerprint-resistant coating in hopes of being able to keep your screen as clean as possible. The Iconia Tab 10 will launch with Android 4.4, KitKat, with no word or promise of a Lollipop update.

Inside the tablet Acer has packed a Mediatek quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage that is expandable by microSD up to 128GB, along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. In addition to this they have also put a 5MP rear facing camera, along with a 2MP front facing camera along with an HDMI port to view your content on larger displays. Dolby technology is included in the Iconia Tab 10 to give a surround sound experience while watching your favorite videos on the large display.

Priced at $249, the Iconia Tab 10 will be available through Acer's Store as well as other retail channels.
