Medical records are often a tricky obstacle to navigate. This week, Ultrahuman announced a partnership that streamlines appointments, tests, and even surgeries.
This morning (Sept. 17), Ultrahuman announced a partnership with HealthEx in a press release, bringing the HealthEx PowerPlug to its app. The company states the PowerPlug will "combine a member’s medical records with continuous biomarkers" from its smart ring "in a secure, transparent, and consented manner." This will roll out over the week; however, Ultrahuman shared details on how this new PowerPlug will work.
Ultrahuman members will need to verify their identity to activate HealthEx's capabilities. This will automatically locate your health records from places you've received care before. Ultrahuman states HealthEx has nationwide reach, thanks to the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).
Additionally, users can choose which care sites the HealthEx PowerPlug accesses. This is done via your consent, and you can stop sharing any records at any time.
Priyanka Agarwal, M.D., MBA, co-founder and CEO of HealthEx, said, "When members choose to connect the two through HealthEx, they arrive at their next appointment with the most complete health picture, helping them arrive better prepared for that conversation."
Getting down to brass tacks, the HealthEx PowerPlug aims to place your entire medical history in one convenient place for you and your doctor.
Ultrahuman states this new feature "maps 532 conditions" based on your medications and procedures. Incorporating your biomarkers only enhances its usefulness. Your previous diagnosis and new medications will be displayed alongside the daily measurements your Ultrahuman Ring captures of your heart. Your resting heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and deep sleep are all factored in.
If a follow-up has been missed, or a condition/medication record hasn't been checked, the HealthEx PowerPlug will surface it for your attention. Users can bring this up as a question during their next doctor's visit. Additionally, Ultrahuman highlights its "Visit Pack."
This is a collection of your medication information—a "doctor-ready summary"—tied to your wearable data. The company states, "The PowerPlug also flags questions and tests to raise with their doctor based on their reports."

I've had to deal with medical records, or medical information in general several times. This hasn't been for me, but for family. And it can be a headache at times. The long waits, the misinformation because someone got their wires crossed. I can appreciate what Ultrahuman is trying to do by bringing in HealthEx. Its smart ring already captures a wealth of data about your body. It kind of sounds like a no-brainer to put that side-by-side with your records
Research states the average doctor's visit lasts ~15 minutes. What's more, the information about your health is typically scattered. This PowerPlug with HealthEx aims to make that process a little less strenuous.

Ultrahuman and HealthEx plan to do more following the PowerPlug's debut. Vitamin D, GLP-1, and Respiratory Health should arrive sometime in the future.
