Oh, man. Remember the good ole days of last year when Amazon's 3rd-gen Echo Dot smart speaker (opens in new tab) was brand new and discounted to a super low price? What a time to be alive, you know? Well, the good ole days are here again because Amazon's Echo Dot (opens in new tab) just dropped to $29.99. It's been selling for around $50 since the holiday sales ended, and even when it did drop it only went down to around $40 or so. Put an Echo Dot in every room of the house thanks to today's deal. Grab this deal in Charcoal, Heather Gray, or Sandstone fabric colors.

Compared to the 2nd-gen speaker, the Echo Dot has 70% better audio quality and an improved design. You can pair two of them together for stereo sound, or connect it via Bluetooth (or 3.5mm cable) directly to another speaker that you prefer. With the Echo Dot you can control your smart thermostat (opens in new tab), smart plug (opens in new tab), and other smart home gear (opens in new tab), as well as have measurements converted, find out the local weather, and more.
