Sonos Controller updated with multi-account support, Playbar enhancements and more

The good folks at Sonos have just released a new and improved Sonos controller app for both Android and iOS. The new version makes some beta features official, and just in time to help spread some holiday cheer. The notable inclusions in this version are multi-account support and various Playbar sound enhancements.

Here's a breakdown of the goods:

  • Expand your world of music with new services including Deezer Elite in the U.S. and SoundCloud globally. Select "Add Music Services" to explore from more than 50 partners worldwide.
  • Have a house full of Spotify or Pandora accounts? Add them all. We now offer multi-account support across services, so everyone in the family can pull from their favorite tracks, albums, and preferences within their individual subscriptions.
  • Before the credits roll on that holiday classic, switch over to the film's soundtrack. Remember the PLAYBAR leads a double life – amazing sound for your music and for your TV. Plus, the PLAYBAR just got even better today through software with enhanced sound for your music.

If you haven't jumped on the Sonos train just yet, don't forget you can snag some new devices at a great discount from Amazon right now.

  • Android Wear controls too!
  • The initial cost seems steep, but the overall value is high. Sonos continues to refine their service offering, providing more and more value to customers. I wish all tech companies would continue to support their products like Sonos does.
  • Thanks for reminding me that I haven't listened to Bela Fleck in a while... time to get out their Christmas album.
  • I just purchased 2 Play:3's and the TV Soundbar for a crapload of money on Tuesday. Lets hope they are good investments and that the sound quality is worth it.
