Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Buds and Buds+ plugins for the Galaxy Wearable (opens in new tab) app, adding two new home screen widgets. As spotted by a few users on Reddit, the new widgets make it easier to control the two wireless earbuds.
The first new widget shows you the battery level of both the earbuds and the charging case, while the second one lets you turn on the Ambient Sound mode and lock the touchpad on the earbuds. Both new widgets are available in two themes: black and white. It is also possible to adjust the opacity of the widgets and have the widget theme match with the system theme under Widget settings.
Provided you have a compatible smartphone; you can also try updating the plugin for your Galaxy Buds (opens in new tab) or Buds+ (opens in new tab) from the Play Store. The update isn't widely available for everyone currently, so you may have to wait a few days to receive it.
Samsung Galaxy Buds+
Samsung's latest true wireless earbuds offer great sound quality, fantastic battery life, and a compact charging case that supports Qi wireless charging. The earbuds also have an Ambient Sound feature that filters ambient sounds so you can talk to people without having to remove the Buds+ from your ears.

It takes the widgets ages to connect to the earbuds but hey, still a nice touch and maybe it will be improved in the future
-
Nice to have an option i suppose, but it seems like a waste of screen real estate to me.
-
Nice to have the option and easy to check battery life of the Buds
-
Thanks for the information , very useful to check the battery.
-
Nice but I'm guessing it'll still be easier and more practical just to ask Bixby to do those things

About time lol 😂 I wish there was a way to change volume settings on the buds, is it not possible to swipe up on the right earbud to raise the volume, and say a swipe down on the left earbud to lower it 🙄 is it a limitation of the sensor on the galaxy buds?

You can change volume on the Buds? You can set them so touching the right bud turns volume up and left bud turns volume down. Or you can set different functions for each one and still have 'touch the outside edge of the bud for volume' there's plenty touch panel options there for them but they can get a bit fiddly trying to adjust them when running etc as when you touch them to do so you end up skipping tracks etc accidentally
