The Optix has a pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and a response time of 1 ms. The refresh rate helps you get the most of out of your video games and high-octane media. The fast response time helps minimize input lag and time-to-screen so when you provide a command, you see it happen instantaneously.

You get all that on a curved 27-inch screen. That curve really helps immerse you into the game, but it also makes your desktop look great if you decide to run more than one screen together. The monitor also has AMD's FreeSync technology. Connect your graphics card to the monitor via the DisplayPort to get the most out of your new screen, and you can use FreeSync with an AMD graphics card to reduce screen tearing.

In addition to DisplayPort, you can also connect via HDMI. Use that port to set up other audio-video sources like a sreaming media player. The monitor uses a VA panel with 178-degree viewing angles and a dynamic contrast ratio. It also has 250 nits of brightness.

MSI covers the Optix with a two-year warranty. Users give it 4.8 stars out of 5 based on 32 reviews at Best Buy.
