Alcatel Onetouch is refreshing its line of affordable Pixi tablets at IFA 2015, with the introduction of the Pixi 3 (10). As the name would suggest this is a 10-inch entry in the low-cost and colorful Pixi line, and it's available in both 3G and Wifi-only variants.
The specs under the plastic on the Pixi 3 (10) aren't going to blow anyone away, but it's all about value here. The 1280x800 screen resolution isn't impressive, but it's an IPS panel at least. And you're also getting 16GB of storage and 1GB of RAM to go with a MediaTek (MT8127) processor, all running Lollipop with minimal customizations.
Alcatel is playing up the main features of the Pixi 3 (10) as being good for the family to share with its multi-user support, as well as the ability to customize the tablet a bit with a nice range of colorful accessories. Alcatel isn't dropping pricing for North America just yet (that'll come closer to retail availability), but we wouldn't expect this tablet to set you back too much.

Design wise, it's a very good tablet. Love the form factor, and the material (as far as I can understand form some pictures). But specs wise, it's terrible. 10 inches and that resolution... it seems quite unusable. If only they bumped screen and RAM a bit, it would have been a nice choice alternative to some ASUS entrylevels...
I have the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 that has that same resolution. It isn't a great looking display, but it isn't unusable either. It really comes down to price. If this is $200-$250, it will be a decent value. There are almost no 9.7-10" tablet in the budget price range other than the Galaxy Tab A. Ya, there are smaller tablets with nicer screens, but there are use cases where the larger screen outweighs the smaller, nicer screen.
How is a tablet with crappy resolution, low storage and 1 gig of ram a great value at 250? We're approaching 2016 not 2012. Posted via the Android Central App
