The Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean rollout continues, and this time we bring news of a British update pushing out. UK carrier Three is starting to push out Android 4.1.1 for their Galaxy S3 owners via an OTA update. The bigger story here perhaps is that Jelly Bean is rolling out to a carrier branded device, ahead of the unlocked versions. This pretty much never happens, so kudos to Three for making it happen.

The update weighs in at a hefty 286MB, so you're going to want to be connected to WiFi before pulling the trigger. If you've yet to see an update notification, now would be the time to head into your settings and start tapping like mad on the "System Updates." Go on, we'll wait while you go check.

If you've already seen the update drop, be sure to hit up the comments below with your thoughts.

Hi guys I got the update message this morning, I've been trying since then to download it but I keep getting the message , “ Access to the software update is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later."

I was constantly getting that with my ICS update so I plugged into kies and got it straight away. Kind of defeats OTA but what can you do?

I have S3 on o2 UK

Right in time for my brand spanking new Galaxy S3 arriving tomorrow. All kinds of happy right now.

Don't look for that rolloutin U.S. until the Note2 has been out for at least month. Jus' sayin'

Djhidro609 says:

I think you might be right but the Note 2 isn't going to sell as well as the GS3 and since Sammy is still in full blast advertising mode for the GS3 in the US I think the only thing that's going to hold back the 4.1 updates for the US versions are the carriers. Don't get me wrong the Note 2 is awesome but it won't have the mass appeal that the Gs3 does strictly because of size.

Got it this morning. Didn't even care that I wasn't connected to Wi-Fi. The benefit of using unlimited data on Three :D I have to say, my S3 works much faster now

Three UK have also updated their Galaxy S2 from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 today.
I got the over the air notification this morning but nothing happened, just done it on Kies via USB and it took about 30 mins.
I actually thought I was going to be getting Jelly Bean, but it turns out to be an update of ICS for the S2 today.

I got the update over the air yesterday morning on my S2 from 3Ireland with no problems. It downloaded and installed in a couple of minutes.

The carrier branded S2 received ICS long before the sim-free device in the UK. Samsung did the usual apology but history has repeated itself with the S3 and JB.

Although I am on the Three network I got my phone from Carphone Warehouse, who I pay my monthly contract plan too, I have yet to receive an update note and Kies says I am up-to-date, I'm running BTU not HG3 according to my phone. Can I/should I update using the HG3 update and odin?
