Samsung has for the past few years cut deals with a variety of big names in a number of spaces to offer a set of so-called "Galaxy Gifts" for those buying new Samsung phones and tablets. With the retail availability of the Note 5 and S6 edge+ in full swing, there's a new set of Galaxy Gifts for the latest phones.
The gifts hit a full range of areas, from giving you a free book a month from Kindle, to a six-month trial subscription to The Guardian, 100GB of OneDrive space from Microsoft, automatically-unlocked purchases in S Pen apps and more. The full list includes some popular names: ArtRage, Driver Speedboat Paradise, The Economist, Empire: Four Kingdoms, The Guardian, Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft, Kindle for Samsung, komoot, Lifesum, NY Times - Latest News, OneDrive, PES Club Manager, Scribd, SketchBook for Galaxy and TripAdvisor.
While the details are a bit sparse on just how you unlock these deals, most are going to simply require that you download the app from the company with the deal to your phone, and use it. For example the New York Times app will give you a pop-up with a subscription offer, and Empire: Four Kingdoms will offer you a starter package right away.
