Galaxy S5

Next flagship up for pre-order two weeks ahead of April 11 launch date

Samsung UK has revealed that the Galaxy S5 will be available for pre-order from Friday, March 28 — two weeks ahead of the global launch date of April 11. In the UK, GS5 pre-orders will be available from "selected retailers" as well as Samsung's online store and the company's flagship brick-and-mortar outlet at the Westfield Stratford City shopping center in London.

Meanwhile a seperate press release from Carphone Warehouse confirms that it'll have the Galaxy S5 available for pre-order on March 28, too. Neither Samsung nor Carphone has pre-order pricing for the handset at present, but other outlets such as Unlocked-Mobiles show a £550 ($914) SIM-free price.

Will you be bagging a launch day Galaxy S5, and if so will you be placing your pre-order on March 28? Shout out in the comments!

The S5 in blue looks good & the specs are a worthy upgrade from say the S3. I suspect many will wait for the announcement of the premium version if it ever materializes.
From initially being disappointed with the announcement it's not actually that bad when you factor in that it has improved some main issues, tw has an imoroved appearance, download boost, 128gb expandable storage, camera improvements, water resistance & the finger print scanner.
I'm sure the S4 was more expensive at launch and at £550 it's not to bad either.
Will be interesting to see what the network deals are on a 2yr contract.
Still that said I'm happy with my Note 3.

You made an excellent point in the first sentence. Average Joe Public who gets a new phone every two years will be rocking something like a Galaxy S3 for which this is a sizeable upgrade. It's easy to forget that it isn't necessarily 'normal' to change your phone every 6 months like some of us do :)

I'm pretty sure this was Samsungs perspective Richard and yes not everyone can afford to upgrade every 6months.
Even from the S4 it has worthy upgrade features, sure not as enticing as comming from the S3.
I will hold my hands up I jumped on forums and really voiced how shockingly poor this S5 was. I have had time to reflect and analyze and when you take that step back you get that clearer picture.
No your not going to sell your Note 3 to purchase or even your moto x that your attached to.
But Samsung done enough at this point in time.
So yes they may have that S5 prime or the new F line come Summer to August.
As this is obviously when the iPhone 6 is released or announced and it's a strategy that has to be deployed in such a growingly tough market.

I think people these days are pretty happy in their iOS or Android ecosystems, Android phones compete against each other and iPhone buyers just buy new iPhones (resisting urge to say 'sheep')

I really don't think there will be no " F " series. .Samsung is already too busy trying to sell 3 models of there phones..gs5..gs4mini..Note 3..adding another line of their phone will only confuse customers. .and at the end they won't be able to sell as much as they wish on their other handset's. .
