Remember the other day when we showed you all those cases lined up, ready to be sold for the HTC Thunderbolt along with a list of promo materials Verizon was set to be receiving? Well today, we got a preview of some those materials for you. Yet, we still can't buy the phone anywhere. I guess this is what happens when you delay a device. All your stuff gets sent out and then subsequently leaked online. Yes, Verizon. It will not stop until this phone gets released. More pics after the break for you all. Thanks, Anon!

who would buy that when the bionic is right around the corner.

bowhunter674 says:

A lot of people, you jackwagon.

htowngator says:

A few reasons:

1) Bionic has the T2 chip which is good for gaming, bad for battery. Rumors of it having a disastrous battery life.
2) Bionic rumored to be delayed too -- up to June.
3) Bionic build quality surprisingly worse than than normal (plastic).
4) Never go with Gen1 of any phone on a new processor. Sounds like a good idea in theory, but often times the software is not optimized for it and you pay for it with battery or no noticeable performance difference.

Add to the fact that it's MOTOROLA which, IMHO, puts its crappy motoblur on its devices. I've had the Droid Pro and HTC Incredible. The HTC was far better than the Droid Pro and it's an older device. Plus, for hacking, modding, HTC's new T-Bolt has already been rooted with s-off and is ready for ROMs.

There is ALWAYS something right around the corner. I have been using a Storm1 for two and a half years waiting for the Storm3 which has been "right around the corner" for over a YEAR - NOW it MIGHT be out in September? No thanks.

The dual core processor on the Bionic sounds impressive, but won't be much good until programs and apps can take advantage of them. And only 512 ram?

I'll get the Thunderbolt from BB and their new Buy Back program. Then NEXT year I can get the second generation dual core smart phone.

cemysh33 says:

Wrong you wont have another upgrade for 20mo so you will get the 3rd gen dual-core phones.

Hand_O_Death says:

Don't know but "right around the corner" better be sooner than later.
Hopefully we will hear some more about it tomorrow when Moto speaks at the conference.

sorphin says:

One word.. EFuse.. No Thanks. I'll only stick w/ HTC these days.. Moto's quality has gone down the tubes.

angermeans says:

I would (although I likely will have both) it has more RAM, no locked bootloader, HTC (in my opinion is way better than Moto especially since they are not locked down), comes out sooner, 32 gb sd out the box, Sense way better than horrible Blur, and a kickstand and better sound (more than likely although I could be wrong.

EggoEspada says:

I don't care if it doesn't come out in two or four weeks at this point. I just want to know WHEN so I can be ready to purchase.

anuraj1 says:

So wait, the Bionic is the one after the one after my dream phone?

Mike_is_Mike says:

Good one.

You can't keep dreaming forever, eventually you have to wake up and buy whatever is available. \;-)

Rock Band Mobile included... I'm definitely sold now. :)

Mike_is_Mike says:

It's better to have the accessories out before the phone anyway. I hate buying a new phone and then have to wait month or two for cases, etc.

Some people don't want Motocraporola. This phone scores 2000 quadrant. The Evo scores 1100. That means this phone is wicked fast. It is built out of metal. It has simultaneous voice/data on 3G. It has the new Sense. Skype is integrated into the phone. It has a kickstand and surround sound speaker. The Thundrbolt is an awesome-ass phone. There is no reason to wait on the Bionic.

ongre10 says:

I concur, the Thunder Bolt sounds like a really really nice device. The funny thing is how it is coming out right after the VZW iPhone. I was really waiting for the iPhone, but did some factual research and decided unequivocally not to but it because of the lack of faster Data. I wonder how many others have followed the same process?
The Thunder Bolt is VZW's first LTE device. From my research it is a well tested phone using, generally, what has been used well in other devices.
I feel HTC could over produce their devices and confuse people, it looks like they repackage for different carriers but I could be wrong. Their phones have a really good reputation.
I will be patient, but I am looking forward to the Thunder Bolt. I will not buy any of the "bundles", only a case and maybe a 12v vehicle charger, no dock or other stuff, its a phone which I will hold in my hand and use.

Anyone still getting a date from BB for tomorrow 14th for people who preordered ?

beirlilny says:

I pre-ordered and promplty went back in to get my $ back when I heard it was delayed, and although they couldn't tell me anything when I was in store, they did call me back and tell me that it was definitely delayed and that not even the managers had any idea when it would be available. I also walked in to a Verizon store and was told that they didn't know a definite date either. The Verizon rep did mention that an HTC rep was recently at the store and the HTC rep said that all they knew was that it would be, "well after the 14th." Hopefully, they consider the 24th "well after the 14th".

I would give anything to have this thing come out on the 24th because I have been following news on it and waiting for it since October, but I'm not counting on it.

rgray331975 says:

So should u buy the first lte device if I shouldn't but the first dual core device. BAM!!!!!!!

tim6253 says:

@rgray: Lte will work on release day, your second core won't! BAM!!!!

@ffpmperryjr: I called five Best Buy stores, they all said 2/24.

ffpmperryjr says:

Has that been made official by Verizon yet?

mjforte says:

I'm getting the Thunderbolt with Best Buy's buyback program that way if there's a new phone I want in the next 6 months or so I can get back 50% of the $749 full retail or $375. Sounds good to me. I was originally thinking about the Bionic but with it being pushed back to possibly June, I think Thunderbolt is the better option right now. Plus I really don't want a locked down phone after having the OG Droid.

ffpmperryjr says:

You can also sell your old phone to BB I went online and got a quote for my Droid X with a spare batt. $180 gift card value. I called local store and was told to print out reciept and insetad of mailing the phone to BB bring the reciept and phone when i pick up TB. so that's $50 deposit and $180 towards new TB.

bobaka says:

I'd love to know where At&t is actually delivering 4g speeds because I sure as heck haven't found any in the Seattle area and... there ain't no map for that

CharlieL3 says:

The fine print in their TV ads says "4G will be available..." So, it doesn't really exist anywhere yet.

angel35 says:

I dont think they have 4G yet. I cant see it any were???

tim6253 says:

Att is calling their 14.4 hspa+ 4G. They just won't tell where it is lol

TrueBlue says:

Last night I went to my local BB to eyeball for myself whether they have any accessories yet (since last weekend I handed them my $50 for the pre-order). They had one case, and when asked about the release date they said the word they are still getting is "February 14th, subject to change", whatever that means, which I know could be anything. I'm not even in an LTE area yet, and I wonder whether that could matter regarding the release??

AnimationB says:

Thank you, all this info about the phone is making the wait less terrible.

djsclaus says:

Just called my local Best Buy, they said as far as they know it's still scheduled for tomorrow

tim6253 says:

Best Buy is not releasing it tomorrow! It would have been announced and advertised. I called 5 stores, they all said 2/24. It's sad that not all stores know what's going on.

born2run says:

BB actually just called me to say they don’t know when they are getting the TB but they have my preorder and will call me when they come in. He said definately not tomorrow b/c they don’t have them yet.

ffpmperryjr says:

WHY Verizon, WHY?

Raptor007 says:

Clearly the Verizon does not want any of the 250-750k iphones returned that were sold during the two hours they took pre-orders. I love how analysts can't pinpoint exactly how many were truly sold so they used 250-750k. My guess is 500k were so online at Verizon before they were overloaded. The 17th clears the 14 day return window and the 24th clears the initial week of in store purchases.

As disappointed as I am about the 24th, I do hope Verizon's head can't get any further up its own backside before then.

Fotofone says:

1st thing when I get the Thunderbolt - Root It
2nd thing, get rid of Rock Band Mobile

angel35 says:

I dont know what to make of this, i called BB in new york city (62st Broadway)Was told they dont have them today but truck will be in on 2/15/11 they wiil have them. But who the hell knows if this true??? We will see???

stormthief2 says:
