Cricket Wireless is the first carrier in the US to sell the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, with a non-contract price tag of $179.99.

The smartphone first launched in India in September 2014, with its 5MP front-facing "selfie" camera as its biggest sellling point. The 5-inch smartphone, with a qHD display. comes in a "pearly white" color from Cricket Wireless, and inside there's a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 8MP rear camera.

The smartphone comes out of the box with Android 4.4 KitKat, along with a 2600 mAh battery. Cricket Wireless recently launched a new smartphone payment plan but since it is for devices that are prices at $199.99 and over, the Galaxy Grand Prime does not qualify.
