A new report claims that Samsung has received 20 million pre-orders from mobile carriers worldwide for its newly revealed Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones.
These numbers come from The Korea Times, which quotes an unnamed "top executive at a leading mobile carrier" who also claims he received a positive impression of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. This executive stated:
"Samsung received some 20 million pre-orders for the S6 and S6 Edge - 15 million of S6 and five million of the S6 Edge from mobile carriers, worldwide. This is the record,"
Keep in mind that even if these numbers are accurate, they are for pre-order sales to mobile carriers and not to consumers. Actual sales of both new Galaxy smartphones are scheduled to begin sometime in April. Verizon has already announced that it will begin pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge on April 1.
