How to get the Best Chromebook Deals

Amazon Prime Day will be here before you know it. Centered around the longstanding tradition of buying lots of cool stuff while saving lots of money, it's become a sort of holiday for many a gadgeteer like yourself. Or myself. Everyone expects this year to be just as awesome as the past years have been when it comes to products we just have to get.

There will be Chromebooks on sale for Prime Day this year. There are Chromebooks on sale every year and every year they sell out. It's understandable — reliable, secure, and inexpensive, Chromebooks make for a great laptop for a lot of people. But not all Chromebooks are created equal, and if I had my druthers, there are a few specific models I'd like to see on sale. Any Chromebook purchased on Prime Day will probably be a crazy-good bargain, but don't begrudge a man his wishes!

Top choice: Lenovo Chromebook C330

This zippy little Chromebook can last over 10 hours, won't weigh down your backpack during an all-day excursion, and with 64 GB of storage, you won't run out of local space anytime soon.

Our favorite

Lenovo Chromebook C330

Like most Chromebooks, the Lenovo Chromebook C330 is already really affordable at $250 and it only drops from that price infrequently. However, we did see it go below $200 for Black Friday so we're not ruling out Prime Day price drops.

Convertible: ASUS Chromebook Flip C302CA-DHM4

If you want something a little more powerful and a little more refined than the C330, you want to take a look at the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302. It's an all-metal 2-in-1 touchscreen Chromebook with a larger screen and a more powerful processor.

Excellent choice

ASUS Chromebook Flip C302CA-DHM4

This premium ASUS offering regularly sells for as much as $500 which is approaching the higher-end for Chromebooks. However, we have seen it go below $400 for Black Friday so it could be primed (get it?) for a Just price drop.

Budget Pick: HP Chromebook 14

With its AMD A4 processor, you'll get all-day battery life (and more) and plenty of power to chew through all your favorite apps and web pages. And the price is awesome.

Budget Chromebook

HP Chromebook 14

An excellent value

The Chromebook 14 from HP will work all day and play all night thanks to its battery-sipping AMD A4 processor. It's one of the best budget deals on a Chromebook we've ever seen.

Best tablet: HP Chromebook X2

This powerful Chromebook doubles up as a tablet thanks to its removable display. It also comes with a precision stylus making it a great choice for creators and consumers alike.

Vibrant display

HP Chromebook X2

HP's Chromebook X2 was still pretty new last Prime Day so we didn't see any notable movement on price. However, it's now been on the market for over a year so Prime Day 2019 could well be its time to shine.

Value Pick: Acer Chromebook R13

The Acer Chromebook R13 Convertible looks and feels like a product that should cost a lot more and is an excellent choice for anyone who wants a premium product without a premium price.

Premium look and feel

Acer Chromebook R13

The Acer Chromebook R13 hasn't dropped far below its current price for months, but we have seen it fall to $290 during previous Black Friday shopping events. It's possible that the already inexpensive Chromebook will get even more affordable in a few weeks' time.
