Vine

Just use that front-facing camera power wisely

Vine has just been updated in the Play Store to enable what every self-loving kid on the internet needed -- front facing camera support. Nothing else in the interface for recording has changed, except now you have a simple button in the bottom left corner of the app to toggle between cameras. You can toggle in the middle of a video between cuts if you just have to give that reaction shot, or you can go the full 6-seconds with one camera or the other.

Is this enough to bring people back over from Instagram with video? Hard to say that it is. Regardless, you're likely about to see your Vine feed filled up with a lot more faces for the next few days. You can grab a download from the Play Store link above.

Is it just me or is there no ability to switch from front to rear cam/ vice versa while making a video in Instagram video?

Top middle of the video shooting screen, that's where the swap camera icon is. The new one for Vine is practically invisible as a Black on Charcoal or Dark Grey icon. (Same as the timeline on the photo but it's out of shot there)

Yes but it seems you can't switch between the two views after you've started shooting. You have to pick one and stick with it.

I'll stick with Instagram thank you. Just has a quick look at Vine again and like I wrote above the camera swap button is practically invisible as it's black on dark grey, Vine need to do a lot to win me over, plenty of other ways of getting short vids on Twitter.

Vine can swap back and forth mid-recording and it processes much faster than IG. But if you're new to vine and have already established a base on IG it's hard to switch.
