Moto X soak test

Big Red's Moto X may be preparing for the big camera update

Verizon looks to be joining the Moto X update party, if today's soak test invites mean what everyone thinks they mean. T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T have updated their Moto X devices to a newer build that fixes a few bugs, enhances a few things, and most importantly makes the camera about a million times better and we've all been waiting to hear when it would hit Verizon.

With soak tests starting shortly, it shouldn't be too long — provided the testing goes well. Of course, there's always a chance that this is a different update, that may be better or more minor (we hate to call any update "worse") than what the other carriers have, but we seriously doubt it.

If you're a member of the Moto feedback network and are using a Verizon Moto X, be on the look out for an invitation of your own. If you're not a member, but have always wanted to be, click here to get the party started and join.

Thanks, anonymous folks who sent this in!

You're just now getting the update. Wow. Always the last to get updates. But at least your data plans are cheap! Wait....

At least the phone still has the best signal and does what it's supposed to... Call! Verizon updates networks fast not phones .... Now u tell me what's more important...

No. It's still one fast car. It's just not able to move at that moment by your analogy.

"Best signal"

Depends on where you live and who you ask. I get great signal where I live...and just about everywhere I go.

And yes you are correct. Updating the Network (on any carrier) is more important. But if VZW doesn't update the phone to take advantage of the updated network, or fix a phone that doesn't work correctly...in a timely fashion...what good is it.

Anyone else not able to enter the imei in the survey? They seem not too sure whether it's supposed to be 14 or 15 characters.

Never mind. They want the meid. they just ask for the imei. Must be a "weed out" test.

I read over on g+ that Verizon's update is more sophisticated and that's why it's taking longer. Whatever.

Would you please post a link to that? I'm interested on where your able to read this on G+. Thanks!

if this doesnt fix the choppy voice calls, im getting rid of the phone asap unfortunately.

mercado79 says:

A workaround is to go into the dialer app > menu > settings and disable "Voice Privacy". No more choppy calls. Still, the update is supposed to fix this directly.

Hopefully we can get AWS switched on - VZ's network is hurting in NYC right now.
