Android Central

Hours after today's launch on Android, the Instagram developers have released a quick patch to address compatibility issues with certain cameras. Instagram for Android version 1.0.1 is now available on the Google Play Store, though if you were experiencing problems taking photos before, this update won't necessarily set everything straight. Our HTC One X is still unable to partake in any hipster-filtered fun, though at least the new version displays a friendly error message rather than crashing out, as it did before.

We're going to assume that there are fixes for at least some devices in this updated version, though. So if you were having problems with Instagram for Android earlier today, be sure to try the new version and let us know how you get on.

We've got the usual handy Google Play linkage after the break. And if you want to follow the AC team on Instagram, the easiest way is to find and follow us on Twitter and use the built-in contact search feature.

Works fine on my HTC Rezound. Not sure I really need instagram. Prolly just gonna delete my account. Twitter and Facebook are enough. And my cameras built in options can tweek the pic as I take it.

Strange that the One X doesn't work properly but the GNEX does???? What could be the issue?

Freezes after it takes a pic and doesn't show the pic in the filter menu. Running ICS on incredible. Oh well Pixlr-o-matic is better anyways.

Also what's with android central pushing the One X so much, getting paid are we? lol just kidding

I was thinking the same thing. But I am hoping it's because they were given quite a few to give away in an upcoming HTC One X (or XL even better) contest. (winks at Phil and the AC.com Team)

I've tried to download, every time I get a message about failure due to an invalid package file. I'm on an Optimus S with Hydro ROM, anyone have any idea what the problem is?

So far, so good. Really impressed with these filters, surprisingly retro for a 2009 F-150

For crying out loud, how long do we have to continue to trudge through this incessent rambling about this rediculously useless app. Get over it already!
