Cyber Monday brings steep discounts to the Sonos One SL, Play:5, and more

Sonos is one of those awesome systems where you really want to get it, but you don't really want to go broke doing it. The audio is so good and the functionality of the speakers is so cool. If only there was a discount that would make it all easier to break into. Oh, look, it's Cyber Monday! Amazon has the Sonos One SL smart speaker the Sonos Play:5 (opens in new tab) on sale today only. Get the speakers for $129 or $399 respectively. The One SL also comes in black or white at that price.

We saw some great Black Friday deals on the Sonos Beam, Sub, and more (which are still alive!), and now the smaller speakers are on sale as well. This is the best price we've seen on the Sonos One SL, which is a new offering from the company.

This is the first discount we've seen on the One SL, which is one of the newest Sonos speakers. It just released back in September, and it's meant to serve as an upgrade over the Play:1. This is an entry-level speaker for the Sonos brand, and this price is one of the lowest we've ever seen for the lineup. When not on sale it goes for around $180.

The One SL has room-filling sound, which is great because it can fit in a variety of rooms and blend in with your decor. You can even pair two of the speakers together or pair the One SL with the regular Sonos One for stereo and more detailed sound.

The One SL works great with Apple AirPlay 2 so you can stream directly from any iPhone or iPad or even ask Siri to play Apple Music through the speaker.

Sonos systems can be built modularly. Start with the One SL now and upgrade later. In fact, go with the Play:5 (opens in new tab) while it's on sale for $399 today only. That's a savings of $100 and when paired with a couple of One SL speakers, you can create your own multi-channel sound system. The Play:5 can work with a turntable or plug into Ethernet internet for a latency-free music streaming experience.

J.D. Levite has been in the deals game since 2012. He has posted daily deals at Gizmodo, The Wirecutter, The Sweethome, and now for Thrifter. He was there for the first Prime Day and has braved the full force of Black Friday. If you cut him, he bleeds savings. But don't try it for real. That's a metaphor.
