Nexus 4

JWR66Y update said to contain security fixes, checks in at 1.8MB

While it isn't the bug-fix 4.3.1 update many are wanting (welcome to the world of owning a Nexus!), T-Mobile has put up an information sheet about the JWR66Y update that they say was released today (August 20th).

We've heard rumor of a small OTA for the Nexus 4 that would be coming very soon, so we're not completely surprised, but seeing confirmation from T-Mobile -- who carries the Nexus 4 in stores and online -- is always a good thing.

The update itself is said to be about 1.8MB in size, and should deliver some unknown security fixes. There is no word on the update for other devices (though I've heard all current Nexus devices should get it) or Google Play editions, but we imagine that when security is involved Google will push things as best they can.

Anyone out there seeing the update today? If so, holler out in the comments and let us know.

T-Mobile outs Nexus 4 OTA, says security fixes coming today

I've had JWR66V (not Y but your screenshot shows V) since 4.3 dropped a few weeks ago. I bought my Nexus 4 from Google Play as well.

Is this a typo or is there an actual update and your screenshot is simply showing the old version? Also Google should be pushing this but T-Mobile just outed it, correct?

pretty obvious he is showing an example photo of the about screen as noone has gotten the OTA yet and he is even asking if anyone out there has received it yet.

Nothing here on my Nexus 4, I am showing JWR66V , Love my N4, updates right away & thought I would be a little restrained because no LTE , my speeds on HSPA+ as fast or faster than I ever had on AT&T LTE, I have my N4 on T-Mobile

There IS a way to activate LTE on T-Mobile, Google it. I've been getting 30+ down and 20 up on T-Mobile LTE which rocks.

I hope that it fixes the inconsistent mobile data issues I have experienced since the 4.3 update. Have 3 Nexus 4 in the house and we all now have signal issues.
