Expect Android tablet news to flow like water as IFA 2010 gets into gear, so let's start things off with a bang. According to German site Areamobile.de, Chinese manufacturer Hannspree will be introducing a nice, high spec piece of kit that sets a very high bar for others to follow:
- 10.1 inch 1024x600 display
- 14 mm thick
- 1 GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 system on chip
- 16 GB internal memory
- HDMI output @ 1080p
- Accelerometer and ambient light sensor
- Wifi and Bluetooth
- Android 2.2

I've had good luck with my budget Hannspree monitors. This could be a very good thing.

I hope the tablets do start flowing. I never thought i would want one, but it's now like I need one. I just hope the prices don't get out of hand like the I-fortune. I also don't want to be stuck with a wireless plan. Cant wait to see what is going to come out in the show. And on a side note give us some good pictures from the beer tent.

No front facing camera, no deal
With Wi-Fi and your handy dandy rooted Android phone and Barnacle Wi-Fi tether this is a match made in heaven!
The only thing missing is an HDTV receiver.
Now we're talking. This I would buy.

WTF? No camera? NONE? For $500.00? Who the hell is gonna buy this?
Don't know about the rest of you, I have never taken a pic with my laptop, this is what I'd use to replace that. If I want a pic I'll use my 8mp DX, or break out a camera.
I would also venture to be surprised if this did not come with a camera OF ANY KIND. FFC's are now becoming the standard and if this does not have at least one camera, I feel this great item will flop.

There are some super high-rez images on the Areamobile.DE site http://www.areamobile.de/bilder/76791-original which are clearly photoshop or render-engine drawings.
At this late juncture, having shopped photos makes me suspect this thing hasn't actually been manufactured yet. So who knows if a cam will slip in before release.
No Android Tablet will be bought by me until Google allows Tablets into the Android Market.
I thought that the 2.2 froyo was getting into the market.
I don't believe so, but I would be very happy to be wrong. The new Archos tablets (also on 2.2) are not going to be Android market enabled, so I assume that this wont be either.
If it's as nice as my 23 HANNspree monitor, it will be pretty dandy.
