O2 UK's "coming soon" page has been updated to feature Samsung's upcoming mid-range Android offering, the Galaxy W. The Galaxy W arrives as part of Sammy's new smartphone namimg strategy, which sees devices tagged with a different letter to demote where they fit in the manufacturer's line-up. Targeted at mainstream smartphone buyers, the Galaxy W is powered by a 1.4 GHz single-core CPU, and ships with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Samsung's latest TouchWiz 4.0. Other highlights include a 3.7-inch SLCD display and 5-megapixel rear camera.
Three UK was the first British network to announce the Galaxy W in late August. Like Three, O2 expects to start shipping Galaxy Ws out to customers later this month.
