Alongside the translucent and powerful U11+ that was announced in early November, HTC also introduced its latest budget handset in the form of the U11 Life. The U11 Life is an incredibly stylish phone with a great build and solid display, but one of its pain points lied with its lack of Android Oreo out of the box.
As per usual with Oreo updates, this means the U11 Life now has access to picture-in-picture, notification dots, Google's Autofill API, etc.
This update comes just days after HTC pushed out Oreo to the regular U11, and following these devices, we should see the HTC 10 and U Ultra get similar treatment sometime soon.
Liking it on the U11... except for the icons and the settings. The power management in settings is reduced and less pretty. Battery standby, althouogh good for me under N, is much improved under O. Runtime seems ok, though I won't know for sure until things settle in. The first day I hammered the phone hard and wound up with the battery at 20% after 24 hours of runtime and 6 hours SOT. I'll have to figure out Pip, as it does not seem obvious yet.
this is great to see... hopefully my HTC 10 can get it soon. this phone is still going on strong for me.
I'm not surprised... My M8 is still going strong.
Me neither. I just upgraded today from my EVO 4G LTE. A 5 year old phone and it still worked like new. Love HTC! Only real reason to upgrade was because it's older version of Android (Jelly Bean) wouldn't allow me to download many of the newer apps.
