Razer Nabu

Razer has confirmed that its up and coming Nabu wearable will integrate with the WeChat messaging service. The wearable is attempting to bind together both the smartwatch and fitness band, offering consumers a single product to carry out multiple tasks. The band itself is set to debut in China, before heading to the US and other targeted markets. As previously touched on, the retail price is expected to be less than $100.

It remains to be seen just how good to Nabu will be, but it's an interesting concept, nonetheless. The added WeChat integration is just another feature which makes the product further stand out prior to its launch. The company is also exploring unique gestures like exchanging contact details by simply waving or through a handshake, not to mention offering an open platform and considering Windows Phone support.

Are you looking forward to the Razer Nabu? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, as well as if you managed to get into the testing phase or not.

Great product. Smartband and smartwatch. Cool. Would like to test it. Although my 59 years old I am always looking for new technology products and always change for the new ones. For sure I am going to buy it.

This is the kind of stuff that will make or break android wear. The biggest selling point for the average consumer is fitness. Here we have a product at less than half the price that gives them what they need and seems to be way less bulky.

Razer makes amazing products no matter what it is,I own there gaming headphones, keyboards and even there wireless speakers! I'll buy the nabu for sure!

I'm one of the 500 people to get into the beta, just waiting for it to ship.

Looking forward to trying it out. I'll be posting videos on my YouTube channel and a written preview on my website.

I don't want to self promote, but I will post some info here in the AC forums once I do get it!

How about you send it to me and I'll do your reviews. You can post them and have full credit...I won't get any fame or fortune, just the nabu.

Under $100 and wechat integration? I'm in!!! Use wechat daily with the family and would like to see more ppl using it (my friends use Hangouts or FB messenger and for work I use plain old sms)

Well, this was a lot greater concept when it had two screens, one to alert you and you flip it to read the message on the other one.

I wanted to sign up for the beta, but I don't think I was "involved" in the Razer ecosystem as they were looking for. I don't game on a PC so I don't have any of their products yet. Thinking about getting some headphones. I'll definitely buy a Nabu once it comes out. May have to give my Fitbit Flex to a friend.

Personally, I'm very interested in this Nabu. I think I'd prefer a small band on my wrist over the current large smartwatches. My concern is mainly missed calls, so I'd be OK without some of the features that smartwatches include.
