Motorola Droid RAZR in store Nov. 11

We know the Motorola Droid RAZR is scheduled to ship by Nov. 10 -- that's officially official. But whwat we haven't had is an in-store date. Looks like that's going to be Nov. 11, and Verizon's getting cute with an 11:11 a.m. release. Let's hope that's just a little gimmick you don't actually have to wait an extra couple of hours after the store opens, but stranger thanks have happened. (Updated with one more pic.)

Update 2: Now we're hearing there's a pretty good chance you'll be able to walk in and pick one up Nov. 10 as well. Worth a shot.

Thanks, anon!

Motorola Droid Razr in Verizon stores at 11:11 a.m. Nov. 11?

Although I was dead set on the Nexus... Nov 11th is my birthday, and oh what a nice birthday it would be with a shiny new device in my year older

Spec for spec, this Razr is almost a dead on match for the Galaxy Nexus.

When it gets ICS it should be awesome.
You would be missing the pure android experience (maybe), and NFC, but that's about all.

nothing is known about the razr camera. probably not going to be in the same ballpark in speed. I'd call that a huge minus for this phone.

4430 vs 4460

Both running same GPU, Nexus GPU clocked 30% higher.
4430 stock frequency is 1GHz, 4460 stock is 1.5 GHz. So, RAZR has a over-clocked SoC, and Nexus a under-clocked SoC. Logic says that the battery should be better on the under-clocked, also less issues with heating.

Should also consider the resolution difference (both using AMOLED).

I like the look of this phone a lot, but I wouldn't get it on opening day. Since the battery's not swappable, I'd want to wait on real-world battery test results before spending the money.

The original Razr came to other carriers. Could that happen with this one? I suppose they would have to drop the Droid name.

I don't think Moto has released any models that are basically equivalent to their Droid line phones on other carriers. They have released equivalent devices on multiple carriers (e.g., Atrix and Photon), but nothing approximating a Droid phone.

They're releasing a phone in store on a Friday? They never do that. It's always a Thursday. "Jim never has a second cup of coffee at home." :)

At 11:11 on November 11, there's generally a moment of silence for fallen soldiers, is there not?

It's always nice to know that someone's 'stuff' is more important than someone else's sacrifice.
