Samsung Galaxy S6 active specs
last updated

The Samsung Galaxy S6 active shares plenty with the regular Galaxy S6, and that's particularly true when you're talking about the internal specs. You have the same processor, RAM, storage, screen and ports, with the big change being a large bump in battery capacity. Here's the full spec breakdown.

These are the specs the regular S6 should have had.
-
So the regular S6 should have came with only 32GB of memory with no way to expand?
-
The battery is good, all smartphones need a bigger battery like this Posted via the Android Central App
-
The only S6 worth buying. Posted via the Android Central App
-
It has a fingerprint sensor like the Galaxy S6?
-
Typo on my end, I'm so used to referring to a fingerprint sensor on the GS6. There isn't one on the active.
-
Are you kidding me. Why Samsung!?!?
-
Did anyone see that Samsung Pay is included. I know it's not due till October as Samsung announced. But still its mentioned and that's odd. Posted via the Android Central App

Much better battery and processor then the normal S6. Sad. Posted via the Android Central App
-
It's the exact same processor. This battery is giving me crazy battery life though. Posted via the Android Central App

It says octa core and I believe the s6 is quad core. S6 Edge and LG G4
-
Original S6 is Octa-core Posted via Galaxy Note 3
-
OK. S6 Edge and LG G4
-
Same exact processor and specs except for the missing fingerprint sensor. Same cameras same ram. S6 comes 32 64 128 active only comes 32 but has a way bigger battery..
-
I just wish there was a 64gb version =[

Water resistant like s5 active? Posted via the "None-Ya" app

Yes, without the need for port flaps. I got mine yesterday and I love it so far. Posted via the Android Central App
-
To your estimate if you have used the s6 edge or s6 camera, is it the same camera with the active? Ois good in low light wroth 1.9 apeture
-
Exact same specs Posted via the Android Central App
-
That battery though...
-
..... AND it's got all those Google services, wow! Surely the deciding aspect. How much money do I save by not having to buy these separately? Posted via the Android Central App

I can honestly say that I'm almost totally happy with my Galaxy Note 4. I really wanted Samsung Pay or the upgraded fingerprint scanner, but I just can't give up a big removable battery, sdcard, and cases. This phone lost so much just to put in a bigger battery and make it "NORMIE-PROOF". Still using the Sprint GSIII on FreedomPop Unlimited for $19.99
-
"NORMIE-PROOF"??? Posted via the Android Central App

Just 32GB? Not cool that's the only option especially since it doesn't have an SD slot
-
Big fail having only a 32GB option, also a big fail limiting it's availability to ATT. Posted via the Android Central App
-
Can be used on T-mobile and Sprint will have it as well. Posted via the Android Central App
-
No interest, Samsung.
-
I would never buy a phone with only 32gb of non expandable memory... Posted via my Note 4...(AC App)
-
Wow. We are still having phones released with 16 gb of storage and people are complaining that this is 'only' 32. The Samsung hate is still alive and well Sent via carrier duck. They were out of pigeons
-
I believe the none expandable SD card is sorta rough. And what chaps people hide. If it came with 8gb on board storage I could careless if I could put a 128 SD card in it. But I can't Posted via the Android Central App

People have a lot of porn on there phones that's why they need a lot memory. 32 is pretty much plenty. It fits movies on it and music and if u don't wanna watch the movie anymore u delete it. Put a different one on it. So not a bad as a deal then ppl make to seem
But then again I don't have porn on my phone so I don't need so much memory. S6 Edge and LG G4 -
Who the hell downloads porn on there phones ? Thats a poor excuse lol. Most people watch it through the video player that the phone comes with. Posted via the Android Central App

It is no worse than people complaining about the Nexus 6 having only 32 & 64 GB available. It's not hate, it's just whining. Posted via the Android Central App
-
Google currently only sells the 32GB version of the Nexus 6 on it's Google Store online.
-
I have to say it: this is a cool phone. Posted via the Android Central App

I like the regular S6 more but durability the S6 Active is the better option.
-
Not knowing the "Active" was going to come out I picked up a normal S6 right after its release. Picked up a cheap case and screen protector as I have been waiting for Lifeproof to release it's case (I realize it was recently released). I only discovered the Active was even a thing 5 minutes ago as I was looking up battery cases to see if any might be rugged as well as the battery blows chunks! For this of you that are taken back a little by the lack of an SD card just pick up a male micro USB to female USB cable capable of doing "Smart Switch". Add Stick mount
-
This is exactly what I wanted on the Galaxy S6.
