While $219 may seem like a big investment to replace something in your house that still works, you'll also want to think about the long-term savings potential here. With Nest's learning feature you may be able to reduce the costs associated with heating and cooling your house by up to 30%, which means it could eventually pay for itself over time.

  • I have had this for two months now a days have saved a third since installing it as i can program it ans only switch it on when i need to to not waste energy.
  • If they are dropping the price, should I assume that a newer version will be released soon? I was at Best Buy yesterday and was going to buy one, but decided to wait until this weekend. I'm thinking I may hold off.
  • This seems more like a routine type of sale than a blowout IMO. I wouldn't worry too much about that.
  • It is an Earth Day sale
  • They've been at 199 in the past as well.
  • I would like to add that Verizon Wireless sells these as well and has a $30 rebate/trade-in on certain accessories. So say you had an older non-smart thermostat? You could fill out an online form , send in the old one and get a $30 Visa Giftcard. Hey every little bit helps!!!
  • Some energy companies (like Georgia Power and Infinite Energy) provide instant rebates if you are a customer. I got the Nest for $149 with an instant rebate of $100 a month ago from Georgia Power.
  • Our local utility will give you a free nest but then you get a higher rate..so it's not really free !
  • My gas company sent me a $75 check for buying a smart thermostat. Check your utilities when you buy energy saving items.
  • I want that wallpaper for my house
  • I recently purchased the Ecobee 3 Lite thermostat through Amazon for $167. It does everything Nest does, works with Alexa (if your into that) and is super easy to install with great videos. There's another Ecobee thermostat that has extra sensors for other rooms and it still costs less than the Nest.
