Droid Turbo now available in Sapphire Blue Ballistic Nylon at Verizon stores

Back in November it was announced that a blue variant of the Droid Turbo was going to be available at Best Buy, but unfortunately that was the only location to pick it up at that time. Verizon Wireless has just announced that their retail locations will begin carrying the blue variant today for $199 on contract, or $24.99 a month through the Edge program.

The Droid Turbo has a 5.2-inch QHD display powered by a 2.7GHz processor and 3GB of RAM on board, along with a 21MP camera on the rear to capture some great memories. Packing a 3,900 mAh battery the Droid Turbo is sure to get you through the course of the day, and if by chance you need some additional power Motorola's Turbo Charger can help you get a quick charge.

Be sure to check out our full review for even more information on the device.

    Rooted LG G2
If it ain't Tech, it ain't Right!
  • Theres something about the look of the Droid series that im not a fan of...looks like the design is OLD...i dont know, much prefer the Nexus 6/Moto X design. Still, nice color.
  • Agreed Nexus 5 (AT&T)
  • A premium and modern design would do wonders for this device, especially if they squeezed in the current specs+front facing stereo speakers. If they sold this type of device unlocked, it'd definitely be on the top of my list. Posted from my HTC One M8 via Android Central App
  • They do. Its also known as the Moto Maxx Posted via the Android Central App on my DROID Turbo
  • Unfortunately it doesn't have much of a updated modern design, in fact I actually thought the Turbo was the Maxx phone when I originally commented. As for the speaker it's just that, a regular single front facing speaker. They need to update the materials and design language, while adding a second speaker to the front before I can consider it. • It is a premium design with premium materials. Hell of a lot more premium than aluminum. Posted via the Android Central App
  • The design of the Droid Turbo is about day to day fiction. Not everybody wants a phone that's paper thin or one drop away from destruction. The Droid Turbo is easily the second best phone behind the Note 4. Posted via the Android Central App

  • Turbo has better benchmarks than the note 4....just saying. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Exactly. The Droid Turbo is a great device. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Lol... Benchmarks. I think it is time for jerry to post the '' benchmarks are bullshit'' article again. We are going to hear it a lot soon. Posted by my soon to be retired Note 3
  • Wonder if it'll help speed up Lollipop updates....doubt it.... Posted via the Android Central App on my DROID Turbo
  • Lollipop is terrible. Be thankful. The new multi tasking is slow. Posted via the Android Central App

  • I had Lollipop on my Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Loved it. Posted via the Android Central App on my DROID Turbo

  • Right?! I prefer kit kat, it was much faster Nexus 5 (AT&T)
  • Its faster than KitKat on my HTC One M8 without any of the issues those with a Samsung or LG phone report. My Nexus 10 is faster as well, but it did have some of the bugs until 5.1 fixed them. Posted from my HTC One M8 via Android Central App
  • LOL at the horrible render by VZW (look at the home button and app drawer button) Posted via the Nexus 5
  • Something must be wrong with my phone cause that is what my Home button looks like.
  • The home button and app drawer button aren't aligned properly. Posted via the AC App on a Moto X
  • I know someone who has this variant, it's pretty nice looking. Not as good as red though.
  • This isn't what the phone actually looks like. The real phone has no Verizon logo, and the camera bezel is also blue.
  • Verizon just haphazardly slapping branding on whenever, wherever they see fit seems about right.
  • Maybe that's how the one from Best Buy looks, but the picture above is correct: http://i.imgur.com/Iy5d6KA.jpg
  • That's a photo of the Best Buy version, not the new blue Verizon version. Look on the Verizon website.
  • I have read that the ballistic nylon causes overheating issues under heavy use. Google it.
  • I have heard the BN frayes quite easily and in some instances bubbling behind the nylon ? So if I don't use a case should I get the ballistic nylon or the other finish?
  • Never had a overheating issue while under heavy use and mine is in a case. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I have owned the ballistic nylon since the week it was released. No overheating, no throttling, and I use the moto flip case. And I am a heavy user. It can get warm in the turbo charger, but not during use. Posted via the Android Central App
  • OR buy it from Best Buy for 100 dollars less.
  • You gotta get over the tramp stamps people. Unless you by factory unlocked then the tramp stamp is just something you have to deal with. Posted via the Android Central App
