The OnePlus 6T might be so good that you never want to put it down, but there's no joking around when it comes to distracted driving. We've seen many states and countries adopting harsh penalties for drivers caught using their phone while behind the wheel for good reason, as every year thousands of people are injured in entirely preventable accidents. We've rounded up the best car mounts for the OnePlus 6T, including some magnetic mounts such as the WizGear Universal Air Vent mount (opens in new tab) since we don't have to worry about affecting wireless charging.
iOttie has been refining their style of universal car mounts for years, and the iOttie Easy One Touch 4 is a great option if you're looking for a windshield or dashboard mount. The arm is fully adjustable and also pivots on its base so you can position everything just right.
Repurposed CD player
If your phone has replaced the built-in CD player stereo in your car as your source for music and podcasts, Koomus lets you convert your CD slot into a car mount for your phone. This is an especially good option if you connect your phone to your car's sound system via AUX, as your phone will be right there.
ProClips offers phone mounting solutions that are custom made for your exact car with a corresponding phone holder that's designed to work with your phone however you use it. There are several styles of mounting options available for your car, and you have premium accessory options for your phone that support cases or offer charging capabilities. Both parts are sold separately.
One of the benefits of Spigen's magnetic mounting solution is how it combines the air vent clip design with a swivelling head featuring the strong magnet. You'll need to attach a metal plate to the back of your phone, but Spigen includes a protective film for keeping your phone's back safe, or you can attack it to the back of your favorite case instead.
For those who want a quick magnetic mount for less, check out this mount from WizGear. It clips onto most air vents, with slots cut out to accommodate wider or thinner vents, and it'll hold your phone securely via the magnet and metal plate.
Spigen's Style Ring is an interesting recommendation because the car mounting feature is a secondary feature. You've seen cheaper versions of these sold everywhere, but Spigen's are better than average and include a uniquely designed rubber hook that lets you clip your phone onto your dash via the style ring. Alternatively, the Spigen Style Ring Pop is a newer style that might work with magnetic car mount but only with smaller phones in my experience.
Any of these mounts will work well with the OnePlus 6T, but the better question you need to ask yourself is "which mount would work best in my vehicle?" Before you buy, be sure to see where your car's air vents are located and look for any flat surfaces on your dash. Also, be sure to look into any local laws restricting windshield mounts. The one option that I'm confident will work with any car is the Spigen Style Ring (opens in new tab) because the mounting hook is small and therefore very easy to place wherever is most convenient.
