Verizon posts change log for Android 4.4.4 update for Droid Ultra, Maxx, and Mini

After Motorola Mobility had confirmed that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat software update is "well under way" for many of its devices, including those in the Droid range, it looks like Verizon Wireless is now posting change logs on what to expect. The Android 4.4.4 update logs are now posted for all three Droids in the series including the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini.

The update will bring some bug fixes, stability enhancements, and some new features. Users will appreciate an improved camera experience with better image quality, more stable Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a new ISIS app for NFC payments. Verizon is also pre-loading the phone with new apps for Visual Voicemail and VZ Cloud.

Verizon is highlighting that users can update over the air on their devices and they should begin to receive notifications soon if they haven't already.

Given that the change log has posted, the update should begin to roll out soon if it hasn't already yet.

This is quite a short turnaround time from when soak tests were made available just days ago!

Have you received the OTA notification for the Android 4.4.4 update yet?

Yeah what the crap? How does this update drop before the X on att or Verizon. That's sad. Prioritizing Verizons flagship phone over Motorolas

Because I complained constantly to Punit Soni that the step child has been neglected. For the first time, they listened. So, your statement is only true for this time. All other times, Verizon Moto X has been first. So quit complaining. And I say, thank you Moto Team for actually listening to my complaints and the constant emails back and forth. Glad you guys finally saw my side.

Verizon needs to find a way to update all phones that are capable quickly. This would be a major benefit and would keep me a customer. ...other wise, I'm most likely to switch to the new Nexus or Silver phones.

Nexus, probably not, Android Silver I would bet on being part of Verizon.

So Verizon should start running each OEM? Because that's the only way Verizon can control phones getting updated quickly. There's nothing Verizon can do when an OEM deems it more of a priority to get 27 different Galaxy models out to each country rather than submit an update in a timely manner.
Of course there's a pervasive idiocy around these parts that causes people to think that Verizon is the only party involved in updates and any delay is all their fault. But sometimes you just can't fix stupid.

May be they can help a bit by not adding bloat and ugly logos, and stop making crappy variants exclusive to one network.

You want an OEM's flagship? GS5, Note 3, One (M8), G3, Moto X are all available on almost every carrier. The DROID line is Verizon's, even though Motorola is the exclusive hardware partner now.

That is exactly why I am switching to t-mobile next week. The Sense 6 update for the One Max was pushed out to Sprint 6 weeks ago. It's still not available for the Verizon variant unless you sideload. I'm leaning towards the Nexus 5. The only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on the Nexus device is no Wi-Fi calling...but it's not a deal breaker.

I've had poor battery life on my Mini since 4.4.0; should I factory reset after getting onto 4.4.4? Or is there anything else I should try first?
I've already cleared cache, didn't help much.

I just don't understand why the kk update didn't bring white status bar icons. Anyone knows if they are now white? Haha

I just got the update for my Droid MAXX and I am liking it so far. This is my first Motorola phone and I have been surprised at how quickly we get updates. Keep it up Motorola.

They fixed the "home" bug that took you all the way back home with the first press. Have not used the camera enough to verify improvements. One warning: Doing a cache wipe from recovery takes MUCH longer (+/- 10 minutes, as opposed to previously under a minute). Not much else has changed in my experience so far.

There is nothing new for you to "see" 4.4.4. It's a "dot" release that has security updates and a couple of other things behind the scenes. This is why screaming over getting a dot release 5 seconds after it's released is a little silly.

The camera is SO much better especially in low light conditions on my MAXX. What a difference, I am so impressed that 4.4.4 improved it so much........

I received the 4.4.4 update last night. After the update one of my shortcuts from the main home screen disappeared and there's just a blank spot now. No matter what I try I can't get the blank spot filled with an app or widget. I can move the blank spot around to different locations on the home screen, I just can't fill it with anything. Anyone else having this problem?

I want to make sure...Droid MAXX, it seems like the Droid family might be having issues. One being WIFI, I am looking for more issues, can anyone comment on other issues.

The reason I even started the process manually (and then stopped, not going to install if there are already issues), is because of my random reboots - anyone else having issues with reboots, or black screens with scroll bar still visible?

I'm having the same problem, I can't even get inside my phone, idk if you have it that bad. I've tried everything from Factory Reset to Force Reboot, nothing happened, it just froze and went back to the Motorola screen, and kept freezing. Just send in the phone :\

After updating to Kit Kat 4.4.4, I'm noticing my Droid Mini hangs when taking photos of checks to deposit. Using CapitalOne 360's and Wells Fargo's mobile check deposit apps, the apps freeze up 30 seconds between photos (CapOne360) and permanently (Wells Fargo) when taking a photo of the front and back of checks.

Update is causing massive problems when on the phone on a call. I would prefer they never do an update, or at least allow us to go back to what actually worked, since it appears MOTO has problems getting them right they destroyed my X two years ago.
