Back at CTIA MobileCON, Verizon said it would launch a whole host of LTE locations on October 18th, pushing the total number over 400 nationally. Verizon has just put up a list of all of the locations either going live or getting improvements of coverage today, and it's staggering.

The new markets going live include:

  • Gadsden, AL
  • Chico-Oroville, CA
  • Vincennes, IN
  • Owensboro, KY
  • Augusta-Waterville, ME
  • Marquette, MI
  • Brainerd and Fergus Falls, MN
  • Hattiesburg and Laurel, MS
  • Columbia, MO
  • Grand Island, Norfolk and North Platte, NE
  • Clovis, NM
  • Jamestown, NY
  • Bend and Meford, OR
  • Amarillo and Victoria, TX
  • Aberdeen and Walla Walla, WA
  • Morgantown, WV.

If the first 23 cities weren't impressive enough, Verizon has also listed another 42 existing LTE markets that are receiving enhancements. You can see a full listing of the new and existing Verizon LTE markets at the source link below.

Woohoo Minnesota!

If I would have known about Morgantown, I might have switched to Verizon instead of At&t.

Strange though as my wife had Verizon and barely has cell phone service there. So I guess I would have lte speed but with no calls.

Fergus Falls, MN has been live for a couple months. I travel for work and go there once a week. A few other small towns I go to in MN and ND are also live for the last couple weeks with 4G even though I've seen no reports of them or any list with them on it.

Finally Bend OR ! A bit more than a year after 4G phones. 4G is a bit slow, but noticed it went live a few days ago.

Well, nice that they are expanding, but go 10 miles out of the city and you are in 3G land anyway.

yay big red has LTE in BFE and im still waiting on ole yeller to get me LTE in Phoenix .... I need to switch

More useless Verizon news. Can't help but laugh at how many people will find out how inconsistent Verizon and it's LTE network really is. Poor reception and lousy signal strenght with piss poor dBm/asu all results in very poor battery life. Been there done that with Verizon Tmobile here in New York City makes Verizon a welfare case. People on Verizon think paying more is kool just like people with iphone think they are kool. These are misquided souls. Bigger doesn't mean better that's for sure just like paying more doesn't mean your service any better than what people on Tmobile receive plus we have unlimited data.

All I gotta say is you really get what you pay for and drive just a little ways out of the city and you will find out who has the piss poor network. Good Luck with your second rate "4G" network, cause it ain't the future.

t-mobiles "4g" unlimited data would be badass if i had reception wherever i went, shitty t-mobile. there services sucks! and its slow. poor battery life? i think thats your phones problem, and verizon expensive? not really, i pay only 30 a month more, and thats that i only paid 35 with t-mobile, and it well worth the extra $

Djhidro609 says:

Dude someone needs to smack you in the face. Verizon has lte in over 400 markets now and t-mobile is still using fake 4g. If lte wasn't the next wave of wireless tech then your beloved t-mobile would have no plans to roll out lte but you know what they do. You honestly need to shut your loud ass mouth up about how much better the smallest of the big 4 carriers is. I get lte everywhere and in my area t-mobile is mostly edge. I'm sorry that you couldn't afford your verizon bill and maybe you do get decent speeds in NYC but there is the whole rest of the US which T-mobile has a lot of wholes in their coverage. Why do you think they are buying metro pcs? A bigger footprint does mean better service ans my lte speeds with Verizon are amazing. T-mobile will eventually switch to lte and then you'll be talking smack about how great lte is again like you did when you had verizon. All you do is jump from carrier to carrier so you can get a newer phone at a subsidized price and then talk smack. I'm so tired of reading your idiotic comments. You talk a lot of shit for someone who had never even touched a computer until a few years ago. You are the misguided soul.

canesfan44 says:

"These are misguided souls," I like that one. I still can't stop laughing. So, let me get this straight. You're saying that T-Mobile has better 4g coverage, reception, and signal strength than Verizon? Hahahaha huh huh. Damn that was funny. Next your going to tell me that T-Mobiles "4G" is faster than Verizon's LTE. The funny thing is that you probably believe that as well.

Come on Sprint... You should be ashamed of yourself!! Nicely done Big Red!!!!

Never in my life did I think I would have been as excited as I was to see that 4G LTE icon on my phone yesterday. Thank you VZW for finally upgrading Chico and the surrounding areas. Now I can get a realistic picture of how much data I really use before my next upgrade.

canesfan44 says:

Come on Verizon, put some towers up in central/west South Florida. Miami, Ft Lauderdale (which is only 15 minutes from Miami), and West Palm all have towers, but they still haven't put any up a little further west than Miami & Ft Lauderdale like Westin or Coral Springs. That area of South Florida is a much bigger market than 90% of the cities that have towers, and it's definitely a bigger market than any of the cities on this new LTE update.
