ZTE Flash for Sprint leaked with 4.5-inch screen and LTE

Hot on the heels of the recently released Grand X, it looks like ZTE is pairing up with Sprint to launch a new LTE handset, the Flash. As far as specs, it seems to tick all the boxes: a 4.5" 720x1280 display, dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM and a 12.6MP camera. There are just a couple shortcomings at first glance though, mainly the rather small 8GB of storage and 1780 mAh battery, which don't compare favorably to recent top tier handsets like the Evo 4G LTE and Galaxy SIII.

We'll only know for sure when Sprint drops the official release date and pricing on this one. It could be a real contender, and more high-end device competition can only be a good thing.

  • I will pass . Give me razr maxx hd .
  • Razr Maxx? That ugly POS? PASS!
  • troll a bit harder as the razr & maxx are two of the best phones out there especially now that we have ics and jellybean on the way. and before you use the "locked bootloader" card there are already ways to use custom mods for the stock kernel.
  • more competition for HTC.
  • "There are just a couple shortcomings at first glance though, mainly the rather small 8GB of storage and 1780 mAh battery" Who cares? The storage is a $10-$40 problem depending on how much you want to add. The only phones that have been an issue with storage in the last year are Nexus S, One X, and One S. Everything else is a non-issue due to SD cards. As for the battery, it's not that bad, and not too far off from the One X. All I know is it's nice to see a manufacturer step in that isn't going over 5" (4.3-4.5 is perfect) and doesn't ruin Android with its godawful skin (looking at you HTC)
  • I must agree with the 4.3 - 4.5 inch comment. Unless it's an all touchscreen phone like the GNex. :-)
  • Judging by the screen shot this phone looks heavily skinned. The battery is too small for a modern phone. This would be a good option if it is priced lower then the EVO and S3.
  • That Camera! Hmmmm. I need to play with this.
  • Exactly what is there to be excited about. We know absolutely nothing about the camera except number of pixels, which is pretty meaningless.
  • 12.6MP? Yeah, I'd like to play with that feature! As far as the battery goes, it's only 20mAh shy of my Epic 4G Touch's 1800mAh rating. Although I admit I'd like my battery to last longer, I've definitely had worse! Can't wait till the Sprint call center I work in gets a demo unit or two!
  • Who cares if this comes skinned? If skins aren't your thing, just get a Gnex or root and flash an aosp Rom. The "omg skins are horrible" trolling comments are becoming far too routine. It's sad seeing IOS/Android fanboy gap closing...
  • THIS will be my next phone... this or one of the next nexus phones. I dont get to upgrade until november, so I will have to wait and see it all :) I wish the screen was only a 4.3 or smaller, but look at how thin that bezel is!
