TIDAL music service now streams on Sonos

Sonos now supports music streaming service TIDAL on its wireless speaker system. TIDAL bills itself as the first high fidelity lossless music streaming service with HD music videos and curated editorial. TIDAL has announced that the integration with Sonos is now live in the U.S. and Canada, and support in the U.K. will follow shortly.

The TIDAL music streaming service now appears within the Sonos Music Service Menu with a Beta tag. Playing TIDAL tracks on Sonos is simple. Just select the service and enter your login credentials. Once logged in, navigation of TIDAL is fully and seamlessly integrated in the Sonos Controller App, available on iOS and Android mobile devices as well as PC/Mac computers.

TIDAL's music streaming service costs $19.99 per month, giving customers access to 25 million tracks in lossless quality along with 75,000 music videos. In addition to integration with the Sonos Controller App, TIDAL also has standalone apps for iOS and Android.

  • Seems a bit silly, streaming super high quality audio to not that amazing speakers? Maybe just me Posted via the Android Central App
  • You can attach Sonos to different speakers besides the ones they offer. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Really liked TIDAL, but $20 bucks is too much for me to pay. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Why do people pay for these music streaming services. Why not just stream from Pandora. I would never pay for that. That's what we do all the time. At Christmas time music is streamed all day. Posted via Android Central App from Samsung Note 3 or Surface Pro 3
  • 1) Audio quality.
    2) Control.
    3) Pandora is US only. Everything else is available in a lot of places. Pandora is effectively a non-entity outside of the US so interest is lacking as a result.
