Motorola Droid getting another update -- it's not Gingerbread

If you see the "update available" message on your OG Droid in the near future, don't get too excited -- the Droid X isn't the only phone Motorola and Verizon are rolling out a minor firmware update for this week.  According to Verizon:

Verizon Wireless will begin pushing an update for the DROID by Motorola today. Enhancements include an updated Twitter® application, improved Exchange Active Sync® functionality, updated Gmail user interface and more. For more information about this update customers can go to www.verizonwireless.com/droidsupport.

This is that update we told you about last week. Nice to see this level of support in an age when phones are obsolete about a week after they are released, and better Exchange support is always welcome.  Hit the source link for a full changelog, and instructions in case you're not familiar with the OTA process. • Dude, I remember you b*tching EVERYDAY about where Froyo was for your Droid, now you don't care? Just remember you said that when Gingerbread rolls out. :)
  • my friend has an droid and he is still on froyo. I told him about the updates but he doesnt care.
  • Do you mean he has eclair still? Cuz we're all on froyo still
  • Long live the droid! Best phone ever made so far.!
  • I got every penny's worth out of this phone. And for being a year old it still kicks asssssss!
  • ud roms been running 2.2.1 for weeks. if you own a og droid and still run stock your an idiot... lol
  • Or you're just happy with the stock 2.2.. Not everyone is interested in rooting/roms/mods, that doesn't make them an idiot. Some people just so happen to enjoy the phones the way you get them.
  • >if you own a og droid and still run stock your an idiot... lol And if you call people idiots and don't know the difference between "your" and "you're"... You're probably "lol"ing from delerium, and not because anything is actually funny.
  • Sry.. but was definitely not happy with the way stock droid ran...
