Moto 360 availability

We've been looking longingly at the Moto 360 forever (or since we saw it at Google I/O) and the biggest question everyone has is: when?!
Now we have an answer. The Moto 360 will be available in black leather and a limited edition gray leather (with suede finish) in the US today noon EST. You can buy it direct on Google Play or Motorola.com, as well as online at BestBuy.com and select Best Buy stores. The cost is $249.99 US with your choice of three different colors of leather bands.
But wait, there's more! The 360 will be available later in the fall in the two metal options for $299.99 US. If you buy the leather-banded version today, you'll also have an option to buy a metal band for $79.99, or purchase another leather band for $29.99 later in the fall.

buy now or wait after sep 9 event
-
I'm waiting until after. Or maybe ordering and then not opening until after
-
What's on the 9th, Apple's event? Wouldn't your choice of phone kinda make this a moot point or are you considering a switch?
-
I assume they're waiting to see if Apple will reveal an iWatch. Posted via the Android Central App
-
And iWatch would certainly not work with android.. what's the point of waiting?
-
If Apple comes up with a superior experience that is WORTH the switch, or even better, if it comes up with a standalone watch, it might just be smart to wait and weigh your options, even if that means looking at the 'other side'.

I'm a Chevy guy. Always have been, always will be. I currently own a Hyundai. I'm an android guy. Always have been always will be. I will NEVER own an apple. NOOOOOO! Posted via Android Central App
-
That's what people said about BlackBerry way back when... And we all know how well that turned out for those who are still holding on to that platform. Truth be told, first product ventures from Apple are usually good. iPod? Game changer. iPod touch? Game changer. iPhone? Game changer (whether we'd like to admit it or not, it WAS, even Google admitted they had to re-think their first Android device because of it). iPad? Can't deny the game change. The difference this time? Apple's releasing their first dabble into this product line LATE. And THAT'S what I want to see. Will they come up with something really game changing? Or will they turn to their iPhone strategy of just 'inventing' what others have had for years (or in this case, months)? In any case, it should be interesting. Plus, it's never a good idea to buy the first batch of any product anyway. Wait until production ramps up and polishes the rough edges. You waited months without even knowing the pricing on this thing, what's another week?
-
I agree first gen anything is usually a bad bet, but this is more like 1.5st gen after Pebble et al (or maybe I'm rationalizing, probably). Apple often joins a market late, and their first gen stuff flops just as hard (but they always improve a lot immediately). It's only revisionist or nostalgic history that makes it seem like all their new market entries flew off the shelf immediately. Let's go one by one, the iPod met with PLENTY of skepticism from general public, it was mostly enthusiasts fawning. It wasn't until iTunes got developed (so rip/sync was doable by neophytes) and distribution went beyond the early days of scouring Napster that general consumer got it. The iPhone didn't have copy paste, apps, or MMS at launch. Again, some enthusiasts lauded it's design but it wasn't until it got most of that and 3G and a better subsidized price that it became a must have. Oh and the numero uno headline right after iPad unveiling was "but it's just a huge iPod touch!", I even remember non techie friends saying that, then they got one a year or two later. All that does prove your other point tho, first gen stuff is often borderline worthless... Now I'm off to check my 360 backorder. ;p I had a second gen iPod touch btw, and a Rio Carbon before that, and a Rio CD MP3 before that which was the sht. Waited out smartphones until the EVO but nearly got a Nexus One.
-
I didn't mean first gen devices. I meant first batches. On any new product, the first few batches are the most likely to have production defects, and this is only accentuated in tech products. Posted via the Android Central App

Waiting for the metal. Posted via Android Central App
-
Are these standard 22mm strap bands that we can replace with standard ones?
-
On the one hand, $50 isn't bad at all for a quality metal band. On the other hand, I really rather not wait anymore and I don't mind paying $30 extra ($250 + 80) for the spare leather band anyway (plus having the chance to inspect the metal band before committing to it)... So yeah, I'm getting it tomorrow. Only question is, silver or black and brown band or gray band, not sure I'll make up my mind by noon!
-
My concern with the black one is chipping. Silver will age well Posted via the Android Central App
-
Yeah, if it's anodized or whatnot it'll show wear more than silver. I liked the grey band better so I ended up going since regardless, specially after my sister said the black one could look almost toy like whereas silver looked classy. ;p
-
Def. Getting! Is metal worth the wait!? Posted via Moto X (VZ)
-
Available tomorrow? Dammit, Motorola...shut up and take my money, I guess. Any way of finding out which Best Buys it will be available in?
-
Let your fingers do the walking. Posted via Android Central App
-
I'm going to assume that if your local store has them, you'll be able to get In-Store Pickup. If not, you'll get it shipped. Either way. I'm ordering mine today!!!!
-
Hmm, decisions decisions, the grey one sounds interesting... Did you guys not get any additional specs on the Moto 360 or is another post on it coming and I'm jumping the gun? Was hoping for Qi confirmation (vs some proprietary thing) and official size/battery specs.
-
This. We need specs! Comparison to LG's round watch!
-
How about the UK? Posted from my 2013 nexus 7, yeah baby!
-
Probably going to need to import for now. Could be cheaper since $250 is £150 here. I don't always post but when I do I use an outdated meme as my signature
-
The Moto 360 should be £200 and will be launching in October over here. Bit disappointed as Motorola claimed a summer launch, which I took to mean July... Source: http://www.stuff.tv/moto-360/moto-360-200-and-coming-uk-october/news Posted via Android Central App
-
I want to but am going to wait a couple more cycles.
-
I agree. Really like it and want one, but no real need and curious to see later iterations of the model. I think I will just adore it from afar for now and carry on with my dinosaur Seiko Chrono and G-Shock.
-
The reported 12-14hr battery life is a really good reason to wait...especially since you can't charge it on the go without a QI charger.
-
Buying now getting metal band later, if it comes to Australia, if not I will be crushed
-
We didn't get the Moto x. So I'm worried we won't get this. Posted via Android Central App
-
Right here. Going to be locating a best buy near Rehoboth DE to get one Posted via the Android Central App
-
When they say metal later this fall, are they just referring to the bands or the actual watch? Is it a plastic watch for sale tomorrow and a metal one later this year? Posted via Android Central App
-
They mean the bands. There is no plastic moto 360 watch. It states on the moto 360 website "six pre-loaded watch faces and two horween leather bands to choose from. Stone leather and metal options coming later this year." The article confused me as well. Needs to be edited to be a little more clear about this. Posted via Android Central App
-
I was also confused by this. Thanks for clearing it up :-) Posted via Android Central App
-
Gentlemen, will the IN STORE bestubys start selling this at noon, or when they open (morning)
I live 1 hour from a US bestbuy (imin canada)
want to know if its worth the trip -
11A.M. CT. is what the website says, however I can't imagine a best buy store turning down a sale over a few hours. Posted via Android Central App
-
Yeah, I remember them selling Nexus 7 like a day before they were supposed too...
-
I'm definitely buying! I wonder of I can pick it up in-store today.
-
If they have it in store, you should be able to walk right in and walk out with it! But given how Motorola seems to be anal about dates and times, I wouldn't count on it going on sale till the specified time
-
If they give me any bother about it I've already decided that I'm coming back with "see, this is why I need this watch! I thought it was [insert launch time here]!" Posted via Android Central App
-
That's fine. If it's possible, picking it up In-store at Best Buy is the fastest way to get one. I have to do stupid work first. If I can't get it that way, I might just order it from Motorola.
-
I'll probably order off Play because IIRC they don't charge tax to Puerto Rico... Tho if BB has them AND they'll take out the different color options for me to fondle... err, inspect, then I might just pay tax and buy it off BB for their services and instant gratification. Who wants to wait a whole weekend, amirite. I doubt BB will have them already here tho.
-
Is this really US only? With all the lead time they gave themselves, I actually thought Motorola were going to do a launch properly this time.
-
I hear you.. I*m so pissed.. I want that watch now (Denmark).. dammit dammit sammit
-
Yeah pretty disappointing, surely, more regions, more sales, more money. What's the difficult part here Motorola? Posted via Android Central App
-
I hope we could be able to purchase on best buy online then pickup in store. Posted via Android Central App
-
I want one. This and the G Watch R. Posted via Android Central App
-
Flat tire! Posted via Android Central App
-
really nice. But battery life is a deal breaker. 24 hours with the screen off? My LG G Watch gets charged every night, but at least thats with screen on. Looks like the G Watch R is the one to get
-
I'll wait for the metal band Posted via Android Central App
-
So can't order through Amazon.com? I had gift cards saved for months waiting for this watch! Gotta be kidding me! :/
-
Having seen the galaxy gear s I'm going to wait and see if they release a version running android wear before I commit to anything. Posted via Android Central App
-
Still waiting for $150 android wear watch, $200+ is too much for a watch, even a smart one. You usually always get screwed on first generation products (I bought a surface rt, it turned out horrible) Posted via Android Central App on 1+1
-
A metal band is 80 bucks tho smh, and it looks waaaay to much like a normal watch. I don't c tha point of having a smart watch if it looks like a standard watch glad I went ahead and got tha gear live Posted via Android Central App
-
I agree with you on the $80 for a band if it's nothing spectacular, but I like it looking like a normal watch. Its a smartWATCH. The point would be a good looking watch that can do more than tell time.
-
Will this be available in Asia tho? Love the look of it... Have U guys check out the Alcatel smart watch... Looks good too but no android wear... Posted via Android Central App
-
I am. And then buying the metal band (which I REALLY want) in the Fall.
-
Being reported this on the news this morning... Terrible battery life. Doesn't last all day. Posted via Android Central App
-
When i got my LG watch I didn't feel the need to have a to have a smart watch its just another toy that notifies you anything on your phone, and yes who doesn't like a new toy ,(exactly why I got it) but after a week or so with the new Android Wear I just didn't dig it.
Now that missing feeling was there when talking about the Moto 360 but u was expecting for the price tag to be more appealing to my pocket, ( if Moto 360 would've been the 1st one out then I would definitely have gotten it) but now I'm just skeptical about it. -
Hell no, I'm not buying it. Way too expensive for a watch that keeps the screen off all the time, has poor sunlight readability, and only gets 24 hours of battery. No way.
-
Just ordered mine on the best buy website, searched for moto 360 then sorted results from $high to low and scrolled down to the $250 price range and there it is. The black with black leather strap, added to cart and finalized order. Should arrive on Tuesday.
-
Best buy Mobile has the watch up for order already. In store availability says none in my area. Posted via Android Central App
-
Link? I'm not seeing it on the site via search?

I'm buying and I'm getting metal!!!!!!!! Posted via Nexus 7 2013 or Galaxy S5
-
Are any of the cell carriers going to have it? Or is it just best buy? Posted via Android Central App
-
my Verizon store claims they will have it, when I dont know.
-
I'll have to wait for metal. I don't buy leather goods so another option at launch would have been great.
-
This stupid company launch new products at 2 AM EST and then tell you the metal band will be available in the Fall...SMH.
I've been waiting for this for months and the pull this crap. This makes me wonder about buying this. -
WSJ hands on reports that you have to charge twice a day? Is this true? If so, breaks are on. Posted via Android Central App
-
The Verge's video review mentioned 12 hours of moderate use as well as noticeably low res screen. I think I'll pass. It's a shame, had such high hope for the Moto.
-
With all the delays and now the battery life issue, wouldn't surprise me and that TI processor, what the he double hockey sticks.
This isn't looking good. :(
Way to go Moto -
I think will wait for the LG R instead. The Verge review of Moto 360 complained that battery only last 12 hours with moderate use. Between the thickness (11.5mm Moto 360 vs 9.7mm LG R), better screen tech (P-OLED for 10% consumption in standbymode mode for LG), larger battery for LG (410mah vs Moto's 320mah) and The Verge's mention of noticeably low res screen on the Moto (just by itself, not compared to LG) the LG, even with its bezel, seems the better choice for me. Hoping the smaller screen would means crisper display compared to Moto...
-
I'm on the bestbuy.com website right now nothing with Moto 360 anywhere!
-
They had the listing earlier. Now it seems to be gone. Guess we have to wait for noon est.
-
soooooo Canada is FALL .... but UK is October.. i am confused... isn;t October Fall? or did they say FALL for Canada cause it's coming the MOMENT it becomes fall? i.e Sept 23rd? or did they say FALL and not October cause it's coming NOV or DEC?? either way i will be going to best buy in Buffalo to get this...
-
I would also go to Buffalo but at this point I need to see some more reviews on this...I think Moto just gave iwatch a leg up.
Really disappointed with MOTO 360 so far :( -
How do you check which bestbuy has one??? Posted via the Android Central App
-
I called Best Buy and they said they do not have it and do not know if it is coming in today.
-
Waiting for a full MKBHD review. But either way i will be picking up a silver metal band version. Posted via Android Central App

Ready to buy @ Bestbuy.com @ noon! Posted via Android Central App
-
I am on EST so the BB stores are open here. Called several local ones and either they could not find it in the system or they said they would not even be carrying it. Not sure if they were right or just didn't know where to look in their system.
-
same, no luck with 6 stores. Valley, rego, 56, 23rd, westbury and lic
-
Guessing that's NY? If so, out of any store, I'd try the Union Square store. Debating if I should take a ride down or not.
-
Best buy has a 15 day period for returns of electronics with no questions asked, right? I might just get one and give it a trial run to see if I like it.
-
That's exactly why I'm buying mine from Best Buy...
-
Jerry's articles are usless for the most part. Instead of just USA availability why don't you list north America??? Only usa exists right?
-
You do realize that he can't give information he doesn't have, right?
-
Day late; dollar short. Now there's 4 circular watches. Motorola, you blew it! Posted via Android Central App
-
Yeah I think the delay is definitely going to hurt them with so many other watches announced now. The questionable battery life could be an issue to. What the heck were they perfecting since March when they announced it?
-
I'm still interested in the 360, but I have to admit some concern over the reported battery life. Seems like an odd thing, considering all the hype Moto did back at IO about how they had "solved the battery issue" and we were all expecting kinetic charging or something.
-

Me. Posted via the Android Central App
-
Battery life seems abysmal by most reviewers. =(
-
I literally logged in to buy it at 12:01 and it was already on backorder until 9/19. None of the Best Buy's have any idea when it will be coming in and all of their stores show 0 in stock. The SKU number is 8307143 by the way. BestBuy.com does not have it listed anywhere on their site. It just sounds like they released it "today" so that its before the iWatch announcement but nobody is actually receiving one until way after the fact.
-
I found it on Best Buy https://www.androidcentral.com/e?link=https2F2Flink...
But it says not available on-line or in stores. -
I put one in my cart at 12:25, and it said it would arrive by Tues-Thurs next week. I debated for around 3 min whether I should go to a store for pickup and in that time, the arrival date changed to Thurs-Tues. I didn't realize it was already a week later, I just thought I read it wrong. Submitted my order at 12:29. Went back to try and check the shipping times and it was now only available for store pickup. About 5 minutes later it disappeared from the site. TL:DR, it was available for about 5 minutes and sold out fast. ETA: I'm Elite Plus, not sure if that changed my availability or not.
-
Yea, pretty much sold out everywhere now. Pretty impressed. With the back order now up and my impulse buy gone, it might give me more time to watch out for more reviews and people's thoughts on it, especially about that reported terrible battery life.
-
Best buy online already sold out.....
-
Very disappointed in Motorola! Logged on their website site at exactly the release time, had one in my cart and then the server went down!!! Went to Best Buy online moments later, got it in my cart and when I went to check out they removed it, saying it was no longer available Called both Moto and Best Buy and neither could provide answers as to availability Talk about lousy planning and poor customer service! Relative to the watch itself, I like it but, let's face it It will be obsolete in 6 months or less I would have paid a Premium for Sapphire in order to avoid fingerprints Also they need to reduce the size and thickness as well as fixing battery life. The initial specs promised 2 days, I'm hearing it doesn't even last a day now! With no alternate way to charge it, you'd have to carry that big charging stand around with you Why not add the capability for USB charging?
-
Crap, just try and order today the official web site and all of our local Bestbuy stores already sold out. :(
-
its sept 26th ..... any news on Canadian purchasing yet???
-
ok its Sep 26 .... where is my watch!. =)~ I cant find any resellers in Canada.
