Huawei confirms its next phone is the P20 and will have three cameras

We've been hearing leaks and rumors regarding the Huawei P20 for quite some time now, and just a few short days before MWC 2018 begins, Huawei's sent out a teaser to make sure you don't forget about its event next month.
There's been some debate regarding whether the upcoming phone would be branded as the P20 or P11, and while sources of ours confirmed this earlier in the year, this is the first time Huawei's officially acknowledged the P20 name.
Huawei just confirmed the name of its next flagship: The #HuaweiP20 is officially the #HuaweiP20 pic.twitter.com/HdOAsycA7iHuawei just confirmed the name of its next flagship: The #HuaweiP20 is officially the #HuaweiP20 pic.twitter.com/HdOAsycA7i— Alex Dobie (@alexdobie) February 23, 2018February 23, 2018
In addition to the name, the teaser also confirms the presence of three rear cameras. Again, while this is something we've been anticipating, it's nice to get confirmation from the horse's mouth.
Huawei will announce the P20 on March 27 in Paris.

And it will send all your info directly to the Red Chinese govt.
-
No it won't take off your tinfoil hat
-
I'm supposed to listen to some nobody like you rather than the heads of the US intelligence community? Your momma needs to turn off the wifi in the basement.
-
Head of US intelligence said they send you data to China?
Or did he just advise you don't buy them for unspecified reasons? -
They advised Americans to not buy phones from this company due to security concerns from its relationship with the Chinese govt. That's good enough for me.
-
Rather that than the fascist US government.
-
Funny, and you probably want the government to take away all guns. Nothing like having a facist government with no way to protect yourself
-
Well if it makes you feel manly go cuddle your AR-15 .
-
You, sir, are delusional if you cling to the 2nd amendment to "protect" yourself from a fascist government. It's not the 18th century anymore and no amount of ar-15s will defend you from any military or government in a developed country. I can't stand that weak argument.
-
I mean, wouldn't you rather your own government than a semi-hostile foreign one? England, South Korea, these are countries I'm ok with, but China makes me nervous.
-
*United Kingdom. England is only one quarter of the United Kingdom and has no government of its own
-
Doubt it. Why would the Chinese govt even care? Any **** blocking going on in the US to avoid Chinese phones is all about money I am sure, because everything is about money in the US of A. Call it whatever kind of government you think it is, but one thing that I figure we can all agree on is it is a greedy one.
-
I'm pretty sure you nailed it. This sounds more like American protectionism than an actual threat to security. Not one actual threat had been verified. It's all suspicion and paranoia. Go ahead and buy one of their phones if you like. I won't because I think their UX sucks, not because of some secret Chinese plot to steal your vacation photos
-
Tell me why the Chinese government needs to spy on you? You realize the NSA does the exact same thing, right?
-
Well ain't that the point? We know the NSA's intentions with surveillance but no one knows the Chinese govt's intentions. Can't believe the naivete on here. You knuckleheads would rather listen to this site vs the recommendations of the heads of the US intelligence community, all of whom have warned about this company's cozy relationship with the Chinese govt.
-
I listen to the advice of the UK government thanks and they have given zero advice over concerns of spying or data theft much like the other 169 countries Huawei sell to. Amazing how only the U.S government have an issue with the company that's breathing down the neck and taking marketshare from Apple huh? Maybe just amazing conincedence
-
Well I listen to the US govt and really don't care what your little island says. Don't worry when the Chinese are preparing to invade we'll save your ass again.
-
"we'll save your ass again" 😂😂😂
-
Looking forward to the P20.
-
As long as it look good and works well, I welcome the Chinese government with open arms!

Doesn't Jennifer Lawrence work for the Russian government in Red Sparrow?
-
Doesn’t trump work for the Russian government in real life?

Number of phones on a camera is going the same direction as the number of blades on a razor went a few years ago. I'm buying the first one that hits double digits. Take my money!!!!!
-
I feel your sense of humour, but this has to do with people wanting a dslr and a phone in one gadget
-
Even if you put a dozen cameras, a phone won't beat a DSLR. It may come even closer than now, but you'll never get the same quality. This is just another area affected by the battle of specs - megapixels are out, numbers of cameras are in.
-
And it still won't rank as high as a Pixel or a Galaxy
-
Note 8 ranked lower than the Mate 10 Pro. Try again
-
Only has to become good enough.
Medium and large format are not used much as 35mm and even smaller 2/3 are good enough.
My phone already takes better pictures than the first digital cameras and they were good enough for most. -
35mm is film not digital
-
I might cave to upgrade my Mate 9 to it, or Mate 20 :)
-
For God's sake.
-
Getting tired of every Huawei phone news article turning into a political argument. If you think the Chinese are spying on you and stealing your data - don't buy one. If you like their great devices and like saving money choosing something not Apple or Samsung then go for it. My country (UK) and 169 other countries have and will continue to enjoy their phones regardless. They already got to be the 3rd biggest phone manufacturer in the world without meaningful U.S sales
-
Word! 👍🏻
-
Life's too short to not have what you want.
-
Why is this turning into a political thread?
-
It's a Huawei device. It's just the norm now and the precursor to WW3
