Huawei confirms its next phone is the P20 and will have three cameras

We've been hearing leaks and rumors regarding the Huawei P20 for quite some time now, and just a few short days before MWC 2018 begins, Huawei's sent out a teaser to make sure you don't forget about its event next month.

There's been some debate regarding whether the upcoming phone would be branded as the P20 or P11, and while sources of ours confirmed this earlier in the year, this is the first time Huawei's officially acknowledged the P20 name.

In addition to the name, the teaser also confirms the presence of three rear cameras. Again, while this is something we've been anticipating, it's nice to get confirmation from the horse's mouth.

Huawei will announce the P20 on March 27 in Paris.

  • I listen to the advice of the UK government thanks and they have given zero advice over concerns of spying or data theft much like the other 169 countries Huawei sell to.   • Number of phones on a camera is going the same direction as the number of blades on a razor went a few years ago. I'm buying the first one that hits double digits. Take my money!!!!!

  • Even if you put a dozen cameras, a phone won't beat a DSLR. It may come even closer than now, but you'll never get the same quality. This is just another area affected by the battle of specs - megapixels are out, numbers of cameras are in.

    Medium and large format are not used much as 35mm and even smaller 2/3 are good enough.
    My phone already takes better pictures than the first digital cameras and they were good enough for most.

  • Getting tired of every Huawei phone news article turning into a political argument. If you think the Chinese are spying on you and stealing your data - don't buy one. If you like their great devices and like saving money choosing something not Apple or Samsung then go for it. My country (UK) and 169 other countries have and will continue to enjoy their phones regardless. They already got to be the 3rd biggest phone manufacturer in the world without meaningful U.S sales
