Verizon LTE

It's that time of month again: Verizon says it will flip the LTE switch in five new markets tomorrow, while expanding coverage in three existing areas. New to the LTE game are:

  • Glens Falls, N.Y.
  • Utica, N.Y.
  • Lawton, Okla.
  • Brownsville, Texas
  • McAllen, Texas

Those markets soon to see stronger and more widespread LTE signals include:

  • Atlanta, Ga.
  • Houston, Texas
  • Spokane, Wash.

For those keeping count, this brings the total number of markets covered by Verizon's LTE service up to 195. (Plus, Peoria's still somewhat live.) Hit the source link for Verizon's full presser, which includes a handy list of all live markets.

Still no NJ love?! WTF??!! I mean isn't the Verizon Headquarters in NJ? It seems like every state is represented except NJ.

We have LTE in NJ. Just not everywhere. I live literally a half of a mile below the LTE coverage line in my area. Patience, young grasshopper.

WNY has LTE =)

I live about 5 miles south of the LTE coverage area and I have to admit the holdup with getting LTE into Monmouth county is getting a little annoying
I heard the hurricane on the east coast and all of the repair work associated with that seriously delayed east coast LTE rollouts.

But it's my fault for buying a 4G phone with no 4G service in the area yet, I turned off the 4G radio long ago realizing I wasn't going to get LTE right away, most of the time I don't really care but I do get a little annoyed each time I see these posts and no NJ is listed, so I understand the annoyance lol.

AT&T has friggin 4G in more parts of NJ then Verizon... Its nuts. Verizon's list doesn't even list NJ in there official list.

I'm glad to see they note the expansion of some markets. In SoFla the map looks great until you realize that only about half of the densly populated area is covered becuase they didn't extend nearly far enough from the coastal areas. Pretty lame.

I noticed they claim that they are going to expand Atlanta. I live in the middle of a heavily populated area NE of Atlanta, and we are about 10 miles from 4G. Yet a couple of weeks back I was in the mountains near Asheville NC, not a house in sight, and I had good 4G. Pretty strange.

S/O to Atlanta...

Their coverage in Youngstown/Warren is spotty at best.

Thats kind of funny actually, I live in the CNY/Utica area and we have been live on LTE since mid December. New market? I can't tell you how surprised I was when I turned on my Galaxy Nexus the day it was released and I was on 4G.

Must say, Verizon is expanding their LTE at quite the hefty pace....

I'm on Sprint and I only hope we'll see this sort of expansion on the UNLIMITED Network.

Still SOL for Orygun, too...

Portland has LTE...Although that does little good for me since I live about an hour and a half south of there.

I see alot of others in central NJ Monmouth/Ocean counties with no 4g yet this sucks verizon if I dont have 4g by the time I can upgrade then its time to leave verizon saving me $239.00 a month, $2868.00 for a year on the three smart phones we have. We got the Thunderbolts on release day under the promise that 4g would be soon well its been 13 months now and no 4G what F*&KEN B&LLS#$T. Then I got notified that we were over our minutes on bill, so after adding up minutes we are under but they still sent a bill for 72 minutes over what a joke now I have to make the second call back to have that fixed. Hey Sprint and ATT send me a sweet offer I cant pass up?
