trapper keeper

Kensington has bought the rights from Mead to sell a series of universal tablet cases that have the distinctive Trapper Keeper design that was popular for school folders in the 1970s and 80s.

The cases are designed to hold most 8-inch and 10-inch tablets, and while in terms of construction and features they are pretty basic the main attraction are the colorful Trapper Keeper designs that are available. Yes, now you can make your tablet look like it came from the era that also bought us MTV, big heavy metal hair and "Square Pegs."

Kensington is selling the 8-inch Trapper Kepper tablet case in a red design for $24.99 while the larger 10-inch version is available in blue for $29.99. However, the bad news is that both cases won't actually start shipping to customers until sometime in September, which means that you may have to wait until after school starts to encase your Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet inside a Trapper Keeper.

How do you feel about this effort by Kensington to go after folks who lived in the 70s and 80s with these Trapper Keeper tablet cases?

Came here to say the same thing. These things were awesome. We even had on teacher in my 6th grade class who told us we couldn't use them because she hated the noise they made lmao

My first Trapper Keeper had Optimus Prime on the front and Megatron on the back. If I could find a tablet case like that, I wouldn't even look at the price before buying it.

I remember having these back in the day!! I would get one now if I could.

I still have my trapper keeper. Using to this day. Has sweet Irish setter pup on it. Need to bring them back. Sweet idea for a tablet case!

This made me laugh. I would have expected some extra pockets to hold physical paper though. Sometimes you need some non electronic papers.

OMG! This is really hilarious! I would get one for my Nexus 7 in a heartbeat if I knew it would fit, since it's for 8-10 inch tablets, it might be too small for a good fit. But it's coincidence that just this past Thursday, I was throwing some old stuff out of my closet and I found an old Trapper Keeper of mine from the 7th grade in a box! That thing was built like a tank!

Ah the nostalgia... Although if these cases are really made with trapper keeper materials then they are way overpriced. Those things couldn't last half a year without splitting along the borders revealing the cardboard inside.
