Sony Xperia Z Ultra confirmed for Sept. 12 release

I actually like the size, specs, and the fact that it's waterproof. However, no camera flash, high price, and the fact that I've grown too used to Nexus devices are my reasons why I won't purchase it.

I will say that it is a sexy handset, though.

No LED flash is a dealbreaker for me too. It's unbelievable that they'd leave that out of such a large and expensive phone.

I've always wanted a phone this big with high end specs. If only the ultra wasn't so ugly...
I'll wait to see if other devices like the ultra come up, or else I might pick up this behemoth.

Either of the the top or bottom bezel of the Sony alone is bigger than the whole Note 3. The phone is the size of a freaking Nexus 7 with no flash. Are you kidding me? The G Note 3 is a lot more functional (S-pen anyone?) and far more pocketable/compact. I wanted to love this phone for the 6.4 LCD screen but far too many design flaws for my taste.lots of wasted space and unnecessary size.

I'll take one if the note 3 doesn't have a unbreakable screen. Cause I'm loving the water proof, and side dock features. Great specs. I can eliminate my S4 and my note 8 all in one devise!!!

This so makes me regret buying a HTC One. I almost bought the Note 2 because I wanted a big screen but the screen quality and camera just didn't cut it. This is what I was waiting for but I just didn't wait long enough.

You can always try selling the One. I'm not sure which carrier you have, but you should be able to recoup a good portion of the money you spent on it.

Question #1

Is this the same as the so called "Honami" or "i1"?

Question #2

Is this the all powerful phone that doesn't have camera flash?

Q1: No, this is the Togari. The i1 Honami is the successor to the Xperia Z and offers a 20.7 MP camera with LED and Xenon flash etc (according to all leaked specs and FCC documents).

Q2. This Togari/Xperia Z Ultra offers an 8 MP camera without flash so that's correct.

I am considering either the Honami or Ultra - final decision will be taken after the release of the i1.

The Z Ultras sold by Negrielectronics is the HSPA+ C6802. The LTE equipped C6806 and C6833 will start deliveries in September when the LTE radio is tested and certified. They support the following LTE frequencies:

LTE 700 / 850 / 900/ 1700 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - C6806
LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600 - C6833

A similar set of LTE bands will be provided by Honami where C6906 is like the C6806 and the C6903 is similar to the C6833.

I am considering the C6833 or C6903.

Love all these new devices, this ones not for me but if you're thinking about a Nexus 7 this may be a great (maybe better) alternative if you want 1 device.
