What Matters

Google Play wants to see #whatmatters to you

Google Play has fired up a neat little contest, and it just might be your chance to win a new 2013 Nexus 7 or a $50 Google Play gift card. What they want to see is a picture of the things that matter most to you, surrounding your favorite Android Device (if you have one).

They make mention that you don't need to have an Android device to win, and that you shouldn't be focusing on brand names or labels for this one. You need to be 18 or older, live in the US, and submit a qualifying picture to win. See the full terms and conditions right here. It's also pretty likely that any winning pictures are going to be shared by Google, so keep that in mind.

If you're itching to get a free Nexus 7, or 50 clams worth of Google Play store credit, visit the official entry page right here.

Even though I live in the US, it sucks to see that this contest is US only.

It would be hilarious, to see an iOS device win, lol.

If you read the rules, only Nexus and Android devices can be pictured or if you don't have one, you can have no device.

Because dealing with the legalities if running a contest in 50 different countries would be stupid expensive. Since they are a us company it makes sense. Now go play with one of the bazillion devices released across the ocean months before they are released in the us.

Wish I'd heard about this when it started on 10/23...first three drawings have already gone by, and only the last drawing on November 20 is left! 75% of the contest is over already!

Unfortunately, I'm forced to agree - it will be a picture of a baby with a phone in its hands, with a picture of the lovely spouse, and possibly a pet (or a pet holding the device, and the baby and spouse in there somewhere). I'd love it if they gave it to a serious "I have no life but my phone" pic - but that would be sad too.

I don't want a new nex7, I don't want 50$ giftcard. I want my nex7's touchscreen issues to be fixed. They're still there, even with 4.4 update !! GOOGLE DO YOU HEAR ME? I'M YOUR CUSTOMER

I had to send mine into Asus service and get the LCD replaced, it actually was quicker than I thought but the issues came back and I gave up.

Dear Internet,

Please create our next ad campaign for free, while we shell out just $500 or so instead of $5 million. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Google

If only the prize was the full kit kat experience on Nexus devices other than the N5 without having to hack your way around it
