 Verizon HTC Droid Incredible

If you just can't wait until Monday to pre-order the Droid Incredible, you're in luck. Best Buy Mobile is doing pre-orders on Sunday -- as in tomorrow. This will reserve you an Incredible for when they're available in Best Buy stores, so you'll be going through BB, not Verizon. You'll also get the $199 price without the hassle of a rebate, which is very cool.

Here's how it's gonna work: You fill out a form, pay $50 on Sunday and get a $50 gift card, which also serves as your ticket to pick up your phone once it's available. Then you can spend the card on anything else you want. Just a few more hours to go, folks. [Best Buy]

Correct, if you use the giftcard towards the phone purchase, then you will owe the additional $150 plus tax.

"This will reserve you an Incredible for when they're available in Best Buy stores, so you'll be going through BB, not Verizon."

When will they be available? 4.29?

This is true, it will reserve you one at Best Buy, Verizon will most likely do their own pre order of some sort I would assume. Not sure any of those details, or when thats destined to begin though.

I sure hope they do this for the Evo. I can't wait to ditch my Pre for the Evo. Should be less then 2 months to go now.

I'm sure you will be able to. I'm the same way as you. I have a Pre and though I like it, it just has too many issues. Mostly hardware issues but also some software issues as well.

is the $199 price only for new customers, or for existing as well? I know if I went to verizon to buy it on the 29th, I would be paying full retail (approximately $599).

it is for new customers, or customers who are able to upgrade their lines.

So, if I understand correctly from my conversations with sales reps at Best Buy, when you buy in store it's like you are buying from Verizon in that you aren't subject to a separate agency agreement (like LetsTalk) which then lets you have the ability to change something on your plan (like add your company discount) and not be subject to a fee from BB. However, if you buy online or over the phone and make this change within 180 days, you will be subject to a fee of $300.

Are the pre-orders considered online or do you actually do it in the store? If it's online and you are subject to the penalty, I guess I'm taking my chances on the 29th in the store.

Best Buy Mobile presales are done in the store, not available online actually. I have never heard of this additional fee to be honest, so I am not sure where you got that, but they may have been misinformed. I dont think there is any fee for anything, the only thing you would see a fee on is if you add a new line, then cancel service and dont return the device your charged full retail of the device.

I got it off of their website. Full detail below. Go to BB Mobile online and act like you are going to purchase something. Then when you get to the page where you start entering all of your information, scroll down to the bottom and click on "Equipment Discount Terms & Conditions".

DEACTIVATING THIS PHONE OR DOWNGRADING FEATURES OR RATE PLAN MAY LEAD TO ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Our goal is to provide you with the very best purchasing experience possible, including huge savings vs. buying in a retail store. Your wireless device purchase price was reduced by an Equipment Discount of $200 ($300 for PDA's and smart phones; $300 for Netbooks). By accepting this price reduction, you agree to repay this discount if, during the 181 days after your new equipment is activated, you:
Fail to pay your balance due to Verizon Wireless each month
Disconnect this Verizon Wireless line of service
Transfer this equipment to another Verizon Wireless line of service
Change your Verizon Wireless service rate plan to a lower monthly service rate
Deactivate the email/data feature if one was required at the point of purchase
Transfer/port an existing mobile number from another Verizon Wireless account if this is a new line of service
Replace an existing account with Verizon Wireless with this account if this is a new line
Return your equipment for a refund or exchange and it is not in its original, new condition or it is not returned within the 30-day return period outlined in our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
If you break any of these contract provisions, except as a result of a documented service quality issue related to the carrier service, you authorize us to charge your credit card in repayment of the Equipment Discount.
Dispute Resolution
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to settle all disputes related to the purchase of wireless equipment and/or accessories (except certain small claims exempted by state law) only by arbitration governed by the Federal Arbitration Act in Fairfax County, Virginia. You further agree that by entering into this Agreement, we are each waiving the right to a trial by jury and agree to only bring claims in our individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.
Privacy Policy
You acknowledge that we are collecting your information for our use in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on this website) which may include submitting it to one or more carriers to fulfill your request for wireless service.
Pricing Errors
Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items offered by us from time to time may be mispriced. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.
Return Policy
This purchase does not qualify for in-store returns. If, within 30 days of your activation or process date, you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, and it is in its original new condition with less than 30 minutes of usage (usage applies only to phones, PDAs, and smartphones) simply call us within 14 days of the activation or process date to obtain an RA and ensure that your phone is returned to our distribution center within 30 days of your activation or process date. If you activated service on your device, it is your responsibility to cancel service with your carrier within 30 days (14 days for T-Mobile) of your activation date. Once returned equipment has been received and inspected, it cannot be returned to the customer. For additional details please refer to your fulfillment materials or visit our online customer service site located at www.whereismyorder.com.

Best Buy Mobile does not have a separate charge when it comes to deactivating a phone. As Best Buy Mobile manager, if you purchase a phone from us and deactivate your phone Verizon will be the only one charging you not us. If you change your plan, features or swap your device you will not be charged full price for the phone. I have been with Best Buy Mobile for 3 years and never have we had a policy where we as Best Buy have charged a customer.

According to your website, and your phone Mobile department, you do. However, each has told me it is different when you buy in the store...except for the website, it doesn't talk.

hmmm, well things will change in May, Best Buy Mobile online will be housed through us and not through some third party website. What that means for you is now you will have the option to buy online and pick it up in the store. But it also gives your Best Buy Mobile store more access to phones they may not carry. So if you live near a Best Buy Mobile that does not carry a carrier you use but you would like a phone from us, we can order it now!

Does the preorder mean I have to set up an account that day or can I wait until the phone is available on the 29th?

No, all a prorder does is makes sure you have one on launch day so you are not waiting in lines all morning. We will hold the phone for you all day and the following day.

Now I read the preorders are only at Best Buy Mobile stores? Crap! Not one of those within 100 miles of me. Oh well, I guess I wait until the 29th.

just upgrade her line and do an ESN/MEID swap that day. So you upgrade her line than we switch her back to her original phone and place the new phone on your line.

They told us the same thing. But they got it straight in 15 min or so. We were first on the list so the first two phones delivered to that location are ours. I'd suggest contacting them again. Our guy was irritated at corporate since they kept him in the dark.

I pre-ordered mine from Best Buy this morning. Got the gift card and sheet showing I have one ordered. I noticed in the bottom right corner that it says the coupon for the phone expires on 4-28-10. I wonder if they really will be getting them earlier than Verizon, the 25th instead of the 29th. They did this as well for Reward Zone members with the Hero. Only time will tell now.

Will have to check paperwork about the coupon expiring the 28th. That'd be cool if we did indeed get them early. The guy said street date was 29th and that when we could come get our phones though.

*edit*
we didn't get coupons. We got a receipt for "presell HTC Incredible". Two of them.

I think the pre-order goes till the 28th because the phone comes out the 29th and no reason to pre-order it after the 28th. I don't see them coming out earlier than the 29th but I hope I'm wrong since i ordered mine today
