Larry Page

Three simple words today from Google CEO, speaking on the long-awaited return of Motorola with the Moto X:

"I know you're all eagerly anticipating what Motorola is launching soon. Having been a tester for a while. I'm very excited."

Google's got an event laid on next Wednesday in California

Larry Page on the Moto X: 'I'm very excited'

It is time to just shut up and put up, time for the specs/announcement.

We already know it (roughly) but lets get to the complaining about it. It will never live up to this type of hype and the longer you go the more fail it will SEEM to be (not saying it will be all that bad, but perception is a *****)

If a post causes "that" to you, I don't want to know what happens when you get your new phone.

@ Larry Page, "very excited" is relative!! So, until I get a hands on demo, only then can I concur or object to your statement.....

As long as all the inappropriate comments are being whipped out here, I'll join.

Smartphone... Anticipation... Sexuality...

... Well the pieces are there. Somebody make a joke out of that.

If he gets on stage at this announcement, I'm going to have to turn off. Seriously his voice is so.... so....so...boring. And a little creepy.

I know he suffers from paralysed vocal chords but it makes him sound like a creepy paedophile. I can already hear his voice saying "Hey Kids, wanna see some puppies?"

He was on too damn long last time, I was in a Skype call with 7 friends last time when watching it, and 6 of them switched it off after 20 minutes with him.

So Larry is "excited" about a mid-range phone that no one really wants because it uses 2012 pieces from the GM parts bin.

So Larry, what are you REALLY "excited" about, what is really coming after the Moto X, you know a REAL phone we want to buy.

Although I think the Moto X will justify SOME of the hype, but if it still falls short; I think we might be seeing the Nexus 5 entering the ring with its monster specs. I know they're only leaks, but what the hell right?

No it has gone on too long to justify anything.

The nexus fanbois will be out in full force but most will yawn

What happens when the nexus 4 reaches it's seventh birthday? Nexus 7? But... but.. er... We already have a nexus 7.

I forsee a name change.

Thanks Phil, for the short and to the point article. Wish all articles were devoid of nonsensical rambling.

I'm also excited for this phone, though I have no intention of getting it. I hope it does excellently well.

He kind of has to be.

But really, excited about those specs, maybe he thinks moto invented a time machine

Well, most people I know are holding their horses for buying the nexus 4. Why? Because they think the nexus 5 will be cheaper than moto and will boast unbelievable specs...2.4 GHz processor, 2GB RAM, and if I remember it right, its probably going to be a quadcore 5 inch phablet like the moto x.

He's a hero, but this city doesn't need him right now. So we hunt him, because he can be the outcast....He's a silent guardian.. a watchful protector.

Would have been funny if he said he was very disappointed with it. Now that would have been a story.

I'm sure it's going to be awesome. Don't care if it's not the absolute latest...as long as it's done well. Spec whores gonna spec whore.

During the rest of the earnings call, Larry said that he was excited about just about everything that Google was doing. So, while it seems like this might be news, it's also just Google CEO Larry Page talking on an earnings call justifying his stock price. Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to see what the Moto X is all about. But when the phrase "I'm very excited" occurs over and over again in an hour period of time, there is another word that comes to mind...Hype!
