T-Mobile will offer families four lines with 6GB of data for $30 a month per line

T-Mobile's latest promotion is offering families four lines, each with 6GB of data, for $30 a month per line. Additional lines can be added for $20 a month each.

T-Mobile says (opens in new tab) their new plan offers a savings of $20 per month for a family of four on its Simple Choice with Family Match plan. The new plan begins on Wednesday, May 11 and will only be offered for a limited time.

In addition, T-Mobile is giving people who purchase a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge a free Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime smartphone. The $189.99 phone will be offered to those buyers via a prepaid card. Again this offer begins on May 11 for a limited time.

  • I wonder what the catch is
  • You get a daily video greet from John Legere at 6am.
  • Wouldn't be shocked... that dude is weird
  • Scary as well. Some of his facial expressions are hilarious.
  • But the video doesn't count against your data cap! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Lol. It's a binge-on thing...
  • 1.5GB a month per member isn't enough if you stray off any of the "free" streaming they offer. I am on AT&T and hate them, but at least I am getting 30GB for the 4 of us a month for $210. Its not great, but to get that through T-Mobile according to them is a lot more than $210 a month. I have been waiting to find a good excuse to jump over and join them, but having kids that chew through data is a hard wall to go over right now.
  • It says 6gb each
unlimited talk, text and data with 6GB of Un-carrier Data per line for just $30 a line
And 30gb for 4? Christ.... how do you go through that?? I barely hit 2gb.
  • Last month I hit 46GB Posted via the Android Central App
  • Drop the phone and walk away. Posted from Nexus 6 running Android N
  • Seriously.... it's mind boggling
  • We're cut from the same cloth. Racking up the gigs is easy. I think the highest I ever got was in the 60s. Those ppl that got outed for hitting TB's that's a different story Posted via the Android Central App
  • Hopefully you're not on T-mobile.
  • Sounds like time to find some physical activities to balance out your life. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Idk if that comment was directed towards me but I live in the weightroom Posted via the Android Central App
  • How do you use 46GB I'm only on 17GB right now. T-mobile 6 will never do for me.
  • Very easy watch a few videos and never connect to wifi. I hit 40gb a month. Easy. And no that's not downloading movies illegal.. Lol.. We dont have internet on my road. So we tether our pc's when needed. And which is not much. And we stream everything else using our phones and a chrome cast. Again we never turn on our wifi. As its not needed since we have unlimited internet. We do turn the wifi on to stream to chrome cast. Using regular mobile data. As our LG phones will connect to our in house wifi that has no internet and use mobile data at the same time.. :) Posted via the Android Central App
  • I have a security system that I check in on and it can use a good amount of data.
  • If you have to check in on your security system, it's not doing its job. Have alerts sent to you as notifications when it sees movement. If you have access to IFTTT, that's a great option as is Sighthound, offload the video to Crashplan and be done with it.
  • I don't have to check in, I choose to check in.
  • Damn. What crime ridden area do you live that you need to check that much?!!
  • Well I am Tech support for a escape room locally, and have to watch ip cameras all the time. Also it's fun to watch people play the game. About as much fun as playing it yourself.. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yea me too... Amcrest view will eat up some data in a hurry.. Have a buisness I check on all the time. Probably used 15gb just in that one app in a month.. Lol Posted via the Android Central App
  • 6 gig per line, not shared Posted via the Android Central App
  • T-Mobile is like gatorade and AT&T is like water. There is your reason to jump ship.
  • But I like water. And Tmo Posted via the Android Central App
  • Its not 6/4 lines. its 6 gig PER line. So each member has 6 gigs to burn and its unlimited. So the First 6 gigs is at 4g speed and then you get throttled after that 6 gigs. BUT there are no overage fees Like ATT. Its an awesome deal and you dont share data. So no micromanaging the kiddos and worrying if they go ever their cap to avoid overage fees. Tmobile MUCH better deal than ATT IMHO.
  • 4g LTE speeds* Posted via the Android Central App
  • Congratulations for not actually reading the article. 24GB for 120 vs 30GB for 210.
  • I'm on TMO with 4 lines unlimited data (true, not throttled) for $180. Children do about 15-20 GB monthly.
  • 15-20gb a month? Your children need to put down their phones and look around
  • It's so easy to hit those marks Posted via the Android Central App
  • yea if you surgically attach a phone to your face i imagine it would be
  • I bet they are all contributing to the overweight problem...
  • Guess again. I'm almost 100% certain that I'm leaps and bounds in better shape than you, unless you're a professional athlete. And even then I still have a shot Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah. Ok.
  • I sounded like a tool in my last comment so my bad. I without question live a healthy active lifestyle tho. (And rape the gigs on my phone) Posted via the Android Central App
  • My above comment wasn't directed at you. It was for tribexx. But i know on mobile, it's hard to decipher! Lol, it's ok man no worries!
  • Mine will hit 60gb easy and swims on a swim team 12hrs a week after school. He does watch to many YouTube videos. But you calling out some kid that hits 15gb in a month and say they might be fat. Shows what you know. By the way. My kid is on weight gainers because he is a little thin due to hundreds of miles of swimming per month... Lol Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yeah I wonder what they are doing! I am a 20 something and I have 10gb but I have never gotten that high.
  • 1.5 GB a month? Where the heck you get that from. Hmm try reading the article again? Posted via Samsung's beast S7
  • 6GB per line. I have this plan. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I made my kids contribute to the phone bill. That cut their data usage real fast.....
  • Dude. Lol.. It's 120 dollars for 24gb a month. No overages just throttled after that. You pay way to much. 210 for 30gb is a rip off.. Posted via the Android Central App
  • This is the current plan they have. 2 lines for 80 and each add a line is 20. All lines get 6 gb each. Nothing new here folks, move along.
  • This is the exact same deal that comes along every couple of months... Good deal, but nothing new.
  • 6 per line may be the deal I need. Its usually only 1GB of LTE and 5 of 3G or less from what I remember looking at this last time though. How I go through it I have no idea. I have asked AT&T countless times how in the hell I can go through so much in a month. Its my kids that use most of it. I average about 2GB if I am out of town that month, and nearly nothing when in my home area since I am on wifi most of the time between the office and home.
  • T-mobile had a way better deal up til a couple of weeks ago with 10 gigs of data per line for 4 lines for $120. But to my point if you do get this plan you can mix up the data per line if you want, it might go down or up in price from what they state here of $30 a line. unlimited is an additional $15. And Im sure you'd still pay less then what you do on ATT now. PLUS anything over the 6gig plan has Data stash for a year with 21 or 22 gigs that could be saved up every year. I think you really should consider T-mobile, check your kids data usage and pick an appropriate plan.
  • So I guess no deals for single lines huh....I don't have a family :(
  • Take a look at MetroPCS. they are owned by Tmobile and you can get 3 gigs for $40 per line. You may get bonus data (an extra gig) for switching.
  • I'm actually using them but thanks regardless! I also kind of felt like TMO's data was a bit faster than Metro's but that may be another story.
  • Take note Verizon!!! Posted via the Android Central App
  • Verizon doesn't need to take notes as long as they keep hovering over RootMetrics and Ricky Gervais.
  • I'm really getting kinda sick of these promos.. Every five minutes John Legere announces a new promo.. ugh.. I have to learn them and tell everybody about them, then he announces something else 5 minutes later.. #ineedanewjob Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • You don't like what John Legere does?
  • I love what he has done! But now I feel like he needs to do more with coverage.. Customer come over to T-Mo to save money but when they go back home or travel on vacation, those same people complain about coverage! T-Mobile always had great plans and now we have too many promotional plans.. Me being a rep we have to remember every little promotion we have and it's impossible sometimes when he releases promo after promo.. Then we have no way of knowing when the promos will end! Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • I agree with what you are saying.
  • +1 Posted via the Android Central App
  • You don't like saving money?
  • Not at the expense of coverage
  • +1 Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • But I don't need 4, I want 2 lines at that price =P
  • Metro PCS has 2 lines for $30 each unlimited talk, text, 6GB each Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • Nice to hear but I only need 1 line.
The last time I use Metro PCS, I had to change my credit card because a lot of small charges started appearing. The bank call me, about charges in Las Vegas when I was in Chicago.
I cancelled the line after 2 months and settled with T-Mobile $30/month plan for 100 minutes and 5 GB LTE
  • That's a awesome plan.. if I wasn't an employee I would definitely have that $30 plan with 100 mins and 5GB of data.. That's all I need, I don't talk on the phone at all! Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • They had an offer for 4 lines with 10GB each for $120 about six months ago. Relative to T-Mobile and their previous offers, this isn't really that great a deal.
  • They still offer the 4 line 10GB plan it's just $20 more now.. $140 Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • You mean "we", not "they"?
  • It's a good deal if 10gb is way more than you would ever use.
  • I have my 2 lines unlimited data $100 in a choke hold, never letting that go.
I routinely hit 20 gigs a month easy Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yea. I jumped on the 4 unlimited lines at 150... What a deal.. I love tmobile... Lol Posted via the Android Central App
  • Good thing I got the 10GB per line deal for the same price. Just wait.. It'll come back..when other carriers have some good sales. Posted via the Android Central App
  • Does T-Mobile still pay off any fees for switching (device payments/switching fees?) Mom's not convinced on T-Mobile but our Verizon bill is exceeding $300 (4 smartphones with 22+2GB per month and one basic phone) :/ Posted via the Android Central App
  • Yes T-mobile still pays off EFT fees and installments for devices! Posted via HTC One M8 and Android Central App
  • Is there a limit or just what's remaining? We currently have 2 devices being paid off (almost new, my sister and I just upgraded) Posted via the Android Central App
  • No limit.. you can move up to 10 lines/devices..T-mobile pays off the balance of your device but keep in mind that whatever you get for the in-store trade-in will be deducted from the balance that you owe on your device.. Ex. If you owe $400 on the device and you trade it in at a store.. Let's say you get $120 for the trade in , that $120 will be deducted from the $400 and T-mobile will send a $280 visa prepaid card in the mail for the balance.. • or spend $20 more and get all 4 lines with 10GB of data per line. Or wait another month for some other deal.
  • I am waiting for a similar promotion for one line
  • I have been using this plan since December and we love it. At the time it was get 3 lines for $40 a line and get the 4th line free (so same price).
We came over from AT&T and this plan saved us a fortune. 6 lines for $160 before any phone installment plans. $27 a month per person before taxes for 6GB of data per line, unlimited talk text and data stash really is amazing, especially if you are coming over from Verizon or AT&T. Data stash is awesome, my gf hovers around 20 GB of data including her rollover data. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I wish that T-Mobile would just do $30 per line. We don't have kids. We pay basically $70/month with taxes on Wal Mart Family Mobile, which uses T-Mobile's towers. I get 5G of data, and my wife gets 1. Neither of us use that much. I would switch over to straight T-Mobile if they would realize that families can sometimes consist of just as husband and wife... and two cats. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I like Tmobile but I have it on Project Fi so I only pay for what I use, which is nice since I don't use a ton of data.
  • I left T-Mobile for Verizon for coverage reason but every time these juicy promotions pop right up,I always feel like going back. Any advice for me? Don't get me wrong I love Verizon but am paying than 90 with my smartwatch. Posted via the Android Central App
  • I left Verizon for T-Mobile for a couple of reasons. Verizon's data coverage at my house was 3G only and "all" of the other carriers are full bars LTE. I get 95 to 105Mbps down and 30 to 35 up on T-Mobile. Also, I typically have 3 to 4 phones that I switch between and Verizon's CDMA is not nearly as friendly for my addiction as GSM or not compatible at all for something like the Nextbit Robin and many other unlocked phones. I was with T-Mobile for several years prior to my stint with Verizon and I have been very pleased with the coverage they have since added with the help of band 12. I will be the first to admit that Verizon has better coverage overall, but for me and where I travel T-Mobile wins hands down. Posted via the Android Central App
