T-Mobile myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition Adds 3.5 mm Headphone Jack, Wood Design

Update: Check out the myTouch 3G fender edition in the picture above! We think it turned out quite well!

If you thought T-Mobile would just forget about the myTouch 3G especially since the Motorola CLIQ is coming up, you were wrong. T-Mobile has just announced that they'll be releasing a myTouch 3G Fender Limited Edition that'll pack a 3.5mm headphone jack complete with pre-loaded songs (on a 16gb microSD card). Along with the music-heavy features, the Fender myTouch 3G will sport a wood finish made famous by Fender guitars.

We love music as much as you do, so to see a legendary brand name like Fender tied to Android is a wonderful thing. We're hoping that Fender and T-Mobile can pull off the wood design on the myTouch 3G because the cynic inside us thinks it may come off a little too tacky.

What do you guys think?

  • A perfect compliment to a vintage woody station wagon. Surf rockers take note.
  • While I thought (and still think) renaming the phone to myTouch3G was a dumb idea, it's great to see that not all the marketing folk were out to lunch. This kind of endorsement only elevates Android's credibility and cool factor.
  • It is cool that T-mobile is branching out to get creative ideas, I like the 3.5mm jack and the 16Gb card, but I don't know about the wood. Maybe a color change like from a Fender would make me get that phone in a heartbeat. I will wait and see how the wood looks. I don't really know about it yet.
  • I like the color. Its like an original 2 tone starbust 1950's fender stratocaster. Wouldn't but it though unless the icons or programs had more to do with music or guitars.
  • FIRST POST AS A MEMBER! When does this come out? Definitely getting it.
  • i hope they finally put back in the original spec 288MB RAM in there otherwise i'll pass again.
